...and I drove it home within 24 hours.
Some ruffian stole my car night before last. I discovered it missing at around 6 AM yesterday. Filed a report.
Traffic cameras with AI found my tag and alerted the officials in one of our affluent burroughs. They called me at 5PM to verify it was still stolen, then a half hour later to come get it.
Jerk made it where the clutch starts the car, damaged the steering column, now the AC fan and radiator fans don't work so it overheats at idle. Gonna have it towed to my mechanics for repair, probably be a grand or two.
Idiot that stole it got a DUI. The theft is up to 12 years.
But 11 hours from report to return? OCR + hot database gets results that are undeniable. I wonder if that's considered "AI?"
