I would think your guitar develop an issue that deserves a trip to a good luthier.
I have a Standard EVH Wolfgang(one of the early ones) and the guitar solid like a rock. Matter of fact, when I've bought it I was living in Los Angeles, a very low humidity place. About a year after I've moved to Brazil(excessively humid area), and 'till this date, almost four years after, I still didn't need to touch the truss-rod.
At least the one I bought is a very solid, low maintenance guitar.
