So what do you think of channel 2? I just got done playing my head for a few hours. I'm not sure what to think yet of it. I guess i expected more. Mark I mode is just too dark and woofy and Edge has left me flat. Crunch mode with a boost pedal seems to work nice.

Channel 3 does kick arse though, but i expected that.

Curouis to hear a review from you since you own a IIC+ !

It's better than the Mark IV's. I, too, like the Crunch mode. Mark I mode had very specific instructions to get it to sound just right. I need to spend more time with it. Channel 1 and 3 are awesome!!! How would you compare the IIC+ mode to the real thing? I really like it but don't know since I've never played the real deal.

I don't currently own a IIC+. I had 2 but had to sell them for various financial reasons.

How do you like the V having owned them though?

It's only been a day so it's early. I can tell you that the V can do everything the IV can, plus a LOT more.

Very cool that you received your V as well, Daniel! How do you like the cleans? I read someone's comments that the IIC+ mode is very thin sounding and doesn't sound like real deal at all. What's your opinion on the IIC+ mode versus the real one? So the 2nd channel takes boost pedals well to drive it into higain territory? Any clips in the making? :)

I called Finland's Mesa distributor yesterday and they said that it's very likely that they will get in their first Vs sometime in early september or so. I'm probably selling my Triaxis/2:90 for the V and GCX Audio Switcher to be able to control the V's features with midi, including boosts for 2nd channel. We'll see how I end up doing... Could be a badass rig!

I read the guys comments about the IIC+ mode sounding thin. The same guy said the IV mode sounded Godly. Something ain't right because the IIC+ mode and the IV mode don't sound drastically different from eachother. They sound different, but it's not THAT different.

Also take into consideration the other 20 people on the Boogie board who all say the IIC+ is their favorite mode of the three. But i guess the 1 or 2 negative comments get all the attention?

Yes the IIC+ sounds killer. I can't say how accurate it is to a real IIC+ since I'm only going from memory on how my old IIC+ sounded.

I got the amp yesterday and haven't spent a lot of time with it and i have a 1 month old so I'm not sure when I'll be able to do clips.

The Herbert is a cool amp. It was my second amp out of this bunch. :D Overall it was by far the most versatile though.

Great collection! Herberts are insanely Expensive 4500$ at wild west guitars.
So should take me sometime.

That was a mini ampfest we had. The Herbert was Defpearlpilot's. He let me borrow it for a few days though. Great amp but i would never pay that much for one. A used Einstein for around $2000 is deal worth looking at if you can find one.

Thought about that route as well! I dont really need the midi switching.
How do the einsteins compare to Herberts, A loud clean with lots of headroom is important which is another reason why the herbert sounds very tempting.

I can't give the Einstein a fair opinion because i only played it once. The funny thing about the Herbert is that it did the low volume thing really good, as good as the Mark series Boogies.

And after playing the V for a few days it KILLS. The big suprise for me is the crunch mode on channel 2. Very musical and easy to tweak, unlike R2 on the IV. I'm trying to throw some clips together. I'm finding the Bogner OS 2x12 is really dark sounding on recordings. I may have to swap out one of the V30's for an H30.
