My demo of the awesome Kiesel Guitars Vader V6X! Chambered mahogany body, swamp ash top, raw tone finish, mahogany neck with royal ebony fret board, stainless steel frets, hipshot trem, lithium pickups and a whole lotta' mojo!
You're an awesome player but that mix is not translating
Once the tune kicks in, The guitar sounds like it's set up down the street it's so far away in the mix
For a guitar demo error on the side of too much guitar not the other way

I recorded the guitar in stereo. And indeed, if you are listening in mono it will cancel the direct signal! I apologize for that. I do love the sound of a single guitar recorded in stereo, but it can be problematic. Please take a listen in stereo if you can ... guitar is cranked! Thank you for taking the time to give it a listen! -Carl

Bitchin tune, great chops, some EJ phrasing in there sounds like? As for the mix, kind of feels to me like the drums and bass are together and the guitar separate. Maybe a bit of verb on those drums to blend it all a bit more but besides that fantastic.
I just noticed the new avatar photoshoot matches the video lol
Agreed with Kapo and that brings t back to >How are you recording it in stereo? Since the mono sum is crushing your impact I would have to think there is a more ideal way to do it.
If it was me there would be a mono recorded lead track with stereo fx dancing around it in the DAW.
Also if it was me there would be some off key notes to implement

Yes, the more common way to deal with it is what you said ... meaning a single mono dry guitar track, then stereo effects on a stereo track. That will work and play fine with mono. For this Vader video, I took stereo direct out of my "un-named unit", and recorded the left and right, each side with effects, direct to disk. Sounds great ... all good, expect when summed to mono. In which case the dry guitar disappears since it is the same guitar. Next time round, will go with the more traditional set up. Was quick and easy to run stereo direct out of the unit!
