My main man Jo (DoomBuggi) just released the first track off of his solo project Škan called "The Immortal Tyrant"

Check it out on BandCamp here:

You can also listen to the song on Facebook here:

Jo recorded the tracks at home and they were sent to me for reamping (courtesy of said Fortin Natas  ), mixing, and mastering.

We went for a bridge between an old school and new school metal sound, staying damn far away from those terrible clicky drums and low mid bloated guitars

Killertone Jason brought the shred in the first solo in the song. Jo tore up the second.

I hope you enjoy the song as much as I do, as it was a blast for me to work on, and lacks many ties to the redundant metal music that has been put out over the past few years. The music is written and performed with conviction and I really think it shows.

Man, I really dig that. It's got a very original sound in every way to me. Super cool.

Glad to be a part of it. I cut the first solo in the tune on one of my LPCs through my Fortin Killer Kali ++.

Cheers for the kind words. I'm sure Jo will chime in soon :)

Thanks guys. It was allot of fun doing this song. Came out much greater than I had foreseen. Greg did an awesome job on the mixing, and reamping on this song. He is an awesome guy to work with. Definitely will be sending more to The Tomato Farm Studio. Jason's lead is fucking amazing, and he nailed down a formidable tone as well. I hope that Texas Shredding mofo will do more guest spots on the music to come. The shit Mike does to electronics to make them sound as such, is truly mind blowing. We used three different Amps on this that Mike tweeked or built. His tone never gets old to my ears. Sylvain Lucchina, or Razor Images, Italy, does some pretty intense artwork. I am looking forward to working with all of these guys more in the future.

As far as gear used on this song, here ya go;

•All Rhythm tracks: Gibson Les Paul Standard, Motor City Detroiter, Fortin NATAS

•Jason's lead (1st lead guitar): Les Paul Custom, BKP Rebel Yell, Fortin Killer Kali

•Second Lead; Gibson Les Paul Standard, MPC Detroiter, 496R, Fortin 2203 King Killer

You would have to ask Jason, and Greg about what mics where used.

I really appreciate any feed back on all of this. I owe so many people gratitude for the support on making this shit happen.

I like it!
I used to get all the old Metal Blade compilation CD's.....various Death Metal bands...
and this track EASILY HANGS or beats out half the stuff that was on them CD's.
Havent listened to Death metal in a while(is it still called death metal these days?)  ....but yeah....this is the shit!

That's borderline heavy.  Sounds awesome guys, love it!!!

Riding the wave between old and new school seems about right. Great job guys!

This is good. Very good. I kind of wish the vox effect was a bit sparser, but it does work for the tune.

I'll be watching for more from you guys.
