my new Amber EVH Wolfgang

Hi dudes,

so it was very nice of Matt Bruck and Ed to get this spankin new amber Wolfgang for me to check out, thought you might like to see it, as I haven't seen any others around yet (except at NAMM), man it is a really nice axe. The workmanship is awesome and it plays and sounds great, The pickups are very cool and almost hard to explain, very clear yet warm, and just the right output IMHO. Here's some crappy Iphone pics as I seem to have lost my camera:

Anyways, I'm really diggin it, it's a blast to play and I'm going to take it on tour...

I like em! I have SS frets on some of my suhrs as well. I refretted a LP once with them- that I wouldn't recommend. But on a modern guitar that's built around them they are great.

Am really liking the Amber finish..not sure if I can come around to that headstock though.

Am thinking of getting another guitar to replace my old workhorse Axis that has a warped neck and feels worse by the day. The EVH appeals but is it really $1500 better than a stock Axis to knock off a couple of pub gigs a week?...... Especially when guitars eventually succumb to the climate here and discolor, warp, tarnish etc etc and not in a cool worn in way....

kind of a long story, but I've known both Ed and Matt for awhile.... They are great guys. Like I said, I'm blown away they got this guitar to me to check out. So cool. I should mention, they gave me a evh wah around Xmas time, and no bullshit it is my favorite wah, it has an amazing taper, it's just bitchin, I'm not really a wah guy but maybe now I am I have a fulltone on my board but Ill be replacing it with this one... Doing a track for my solo album and I used the wah all over it, I think it sounds real cool

aww you guys are too kind, I'm glad you like my stuff! I'm in the process of moving, and starting a new touring gig (Melissa Etheridge), I'll need to get my studio back up and running at the new place so I'm dealing with that before I can start tracking again but I'm really excited to get it done! I need to record four more tunes then mix and it's done.
