My New Black G System

So I hunted down a IB modified Black G system thank to Jesus tone freak on Rigtalk for hooking me up with a brand spanking new one.

Verdict >G system + Engl Extreme Aggression = perfect match w/ zero tone loss !

Used lairds paper to set up. Dam the G is really nice all around. I'm a simple guy. So adding an effect here or there this is perfect. TC effects are so nice.

This beats my first g system I bought when they first hit market. The IB mod is great.

Yes I could have waited for a axfx but I like the gsystem board much better. Easy to use this unit.

Other than this the Gsp1101 n control 2 are next best thing.

Just thought I would share being some g lovers out there still.

That's awesome. I'm dying for a g system but sensitive to the tone loss so the IB modified version is seems just perfect. Might have to start a hunt of my own!

I just got a new g system about 2 months its a silver one but it does have the different input buffer from checking the serial # but its a great unit! I have not experienced any noise or tone loss! But I don't think I could have done it without lairds paper, I running 5 cable method with Randall rm 100 and a Marshall 8200 bi chours in stereo its killer!

Just a thought, every unit that comes out someone has a bitch about it ... It doesn't have this or that it doesn't do this or that, it should be able to this instead of that ...

This unit takes a lot of heat, love/hate ...

Hell I see ppl bitching about that new axfx effects unit coming out already.

I'm a TC guy. I tried a Lexicon MPX and it went back out the door within a week of having it. I really like my G Force, and my GM2 is a great unit too. Way easier to use and cheaper than the G Force, but doesn't match the G Force's sound quality.

The G system intrigues me. One of these days I'd like to pick one up.

Has anyone owned all three? G Force, GM(2), and G system? Where does the G system's FX quality lean towards? Closer to the G Force or GM2? When I bought my G Force I could tell a big difference in FX quality as compared to my GM2 that I had been using for a number of years. They do not sound the same, as some people try to say.

I had all 3. G system is amazing. I wasn't blown away by gforce ...g major 1 was cool but 2 was even better.

Love the new fx they put in the updates.

Congrats!..They are great units if you work with them a bit.Ive had all 3 versions.Still have a black ib.My 2290 is still my favorite piece of tc gear though.If you go over to the tc g system forum,youll see tc themselves have not been keepin up with the times on this great piece of gear.If, per say, that eventide did a full blown version of this,and axe fx8 added a few more loop options, tc will have to step it up big time.At the least, they should add the looper,new tuner,and abilility to change order of ALL effects..great piece of gear anyways though..and makes a killer midiboard!

According to this post from someone at TC, http://support.tcelectronic.com/entries/21562392-G-System-Differences-between-the-three-versions, the standard silver G-System now has the 3rd generation input buffer designed by Massimo Mantovani as well as all of the other tweaks. So, all current G Systems have the iB circuitry..

My ib modified is currently the main controller for this rig.Although I do have the 2290 footcontroller which is actually pretty nice too. Im just between Bradshaw and Skrydstrup midi boards right now, so the tc does almost what they do.Ive also had all 3 tc's . I agree, the gforce was better than than the gmajor, but perhaps not than the g system.My fav though is by far my 2290.The 2290, w/ a g system or h7600 in its loop is the cats meow.
