Follow up to my recent post about my new acquisition of a Groove Tubes Trio Pre.

I rigged it all up, the Cornford Mk50H, GT Trio, Korg DL8000R, GLab Switchers and controllers and some pedals. Everything is switched and controlled via Midi. It is FUN!

00:00-02:50 Explanation of the rig
02:50-04:44 Groove Tubes Trio Clean
04:44-06:42 Groove Tubes Trio Crunch
06:42-07:59 Mk50H Crunch
08:38-11:48 Groove Tubes Trio Lead
11:48-13:08 Mk50H Lead

In between comparisons of the two crunch and the two lead channels

I am happy with the tones I am getting. This clip is quite low volume, I feel the difference between the two pres becomed actually more pronounced if the amp is turned up higher. Best rig I ever had IMO. :)

Thanks man. I am really happy with it. Best thing is, the rack has wheels and I can place my head on top when rolling it to the car. So in the end it's more stuff, but transport is more comfortable than carrying the head in fact :)

the cornford sounds amazing, good variety with the GT tube pre, a cool rig

a friend has the g-lab switcher didn't know you could hook it up to do tap tempo too

gat!!!!!!!!!! damn!!!!!!!!!!! dude!!!!!!!!!!!!! 7:40!!!!!!!!! is the shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rawk:

dude that tone is fucking killer!!!!

great job man and thanks for sharing

that is a really cool feature with the delay levels in the korg, that thing is like a swiss army knife of delays

Thanks guys.

I had to do some workarounds. What I do is basically stay on one delay program all the time. I could switch presets but would lose the tap tempo when switching sounds, so I decided one setting is good. Then I control delay level through controllers from the GLab. So every preset has a Pre-Set value for the delay level, out of 128 for example on the crunch rhythm, this is just set to 15, but on the cleans it's at 88. Now when I hit that extra button top right, that toggles between 0 and 128 on the same midi controller. 128 is not delay level full, but it is the value I have defined as maximum in the patch on the Korg, I think like -10dB.

So, for example I hit the crunch preset on the GLab, delay level is 15, so maybe like -25dB. I hit the top right button, delay level goes to 0, I hit it again, it goes to 128, so about -10dB. It was a pita to program it all, but now it's very intuitive to use.

And yes, tap tempo is a feature since the last update of the GSC-3 :)

Great tones, great playing. I liked it a lot!
I love how it all sounds so transparent!

Thanks man. The GT is a great match with the Cornford. I was surprised to realise how crisp the Cornford poweramp sounds, whereas in conjunction with its preamp it is very organic and a bit blurry (great for leads), but with the GT it's tight and transparent, so great for chugging and more crisp crunch.

Some great smooth lead tone there. Well done. Sounds amazingly clear and defined!
