If you're not aware I live in Louisiana. It's predicted that on Tuesday we have a high probability of "wintery mix" weather and maybe a couple inches of snow sticking to the ground. In preparation State offices and schools have already decided to close and likely most of the State will shut down. We're not used to this shit down here, but I'm sure y'all up north who regularly get 6 feet of snow would have a good laugh at us. All I can counter with is good luck if a hurricane ever makes it your way.

Good luck. If you're not already prepped do your grocery shopping and grab shovels, water, etc. before the rush is on. Winter weather can be really tough for southern states.

I generally stay prepped for any disaster we may encounter around here. I always have extra food & water on hand and got a standby generator several years back. I did some general grocery shopping this afternoon to cook supper over the weekend and the store was kinda nuts with people scrambling for the cold weather. I can only imagine what Walmart will look like Monday afternoon.

Oh no, lets all run out and buy milk and bread. lol

I remember getting snow in Pensacola, FL in the mid 1980's.

We are looking at the same weather here in my area outside of Houston. Last night I went grocery shopping for next week so as to avoid what'll suredly be masses of people scrambling at the last minute to grab water and mass amounts of toilet paper or what have you...Tomorrow I'll go and fill the spare cans I have with gas just in case they cut our power like they did in 2021.

At least toilet paper is still available........ for now LOL
Ridiculously small rolls, but available.
It will hit us hard too (northern Indiana), wind chill may hit 30 below on Monday & Tuesday and temps will hover around zeroF.
Got milk yesterday and a heap of firewood inside today, hope i don't have to go out for ANYTHING.
Good luck to all ya'll.

To be honest.... i think i would prefer a hurricane instead of the -10 degrees we gettin late this weekend lol

Fucking Polar Vortex!!!!! Day one has sucked ass! Only a week or so left of tge Extreme Cold.

It’s cold and sunny here (Eugene OR) 33-37° average all week, but oddly no rain and a sunny forecast all week.

I can't believe you never told me you live in Louisiana. I love Louisiana. You can't find a proper pork cracklin in them other states.

A humorous cold morning here in TX is listening to people try to drive to work on a day with icy roads. bUt I gOTtA tRucK d00d is out there spinning his wheels at 6 a.m, going absolutely nowhere...zzzZZZZZzzzzzZZZZZZzzzzzzzz LOL

Yeah but when it's 103 up here we're dying and yall are laughing.

Reminds me when I was stationed in norfolk.
2 inches of snow they shut down the state and called out the NG.

Funny watching the southerners sliding around on deck and trying to make snow balls.

I tried to esuhsplain to them the snow isn't wet enough.

They had no clue what I was talking about

Now that the snow has been falling here for half a day it looks like we've gotten a good 4" give or take so far and it's still falling. It's funny as hell that they had to issue a state wide emergency alert for people to stay off the roads due to the number of vehicle collisions being reported. They're apparently overwhelming first responders. I do hope no one was seriously injured in any collisions, but it's also kinda their own fault; assuming they weren't forced to work under threat of termination. But pretty much all but actually essential business (hospitals and such) have been shut down across the State. So whoever is on the road are probably the goobers sightseeing or thinking it'd be a good idea to take the family out for McDonalds. Us southerners really have no clue how to drive in the snow and really shouldn't be out on the roads. Shit, most people can't drive in normal weather. This meme really says it all.
