My turn...what's a great rack effects processor?

and you have been told correctly dave

G force is the only effects processor all in one that really does add its own voicing of effects and does so without changing your original tone. g force adds to the tone in parallel of the original source, not changing in addition to your original tone - not to be confused with auto-routing in parallel, im talking tonality wise here. they are worth every penny and what i was originally going to grab just for the delay's alone before i had the chance to snatch a damage control timeline from a friend.

better delay's than the g major, very intuitive layout simillar to the g major, and extremely powerful in how you can route internal effects which you will need considering your elusive W/D D/D W/D setup.

tone wise they do not have the sterility as other digital processors in the same price range.

Axe-FX Ultra.

No.
F'n.
Comparison.
Period.

I would rather spend more and get the Eventide H8000
I was 100% on my way to doing JUST that before seeing and realizing the merits of the Axe-Ultra...

Just sayin',

Eventide Eclipse. Thank me later
Not enough horsepower when one looks dollar for dollar against the Ultra. Serious. And this is coming from an Eventide fanboi.

Peace :salute:

I agree with the G-force. However, I opted to go with the G Major 2 because with the small amount of effects I use I couldn't tell the difference. I only use it for delays, chorus (the trichorus is awesome), reverb, and the rare tremolo. For me, I don't need a vast array of delays. I use one and tap the tempo. I have it in a loop of my gcx and let me tell ya, I constantly take it in and out of the signal path and I cannot tell any signal loss or change in tone. For me it didn't make sense to spend the very large difference in price for the gforce.

Hmmm. I wonder if the G major 2 is the way to go.
This is what you do. Pick both up at guitar center, try them both out for 30 days then return one. :D

Axe fx, best effects ive owned and 1000 percent customizeable

you will get sub-par algorithms and limited internal routing abilities, just saying that with your W/D D/D W/D rig, the G-force is a much better canidate not only for the routing but also superior algorithms.

i owned a g major, toyed the idea of getting a GM-II and a GM-II is more like a g-system than the G-force.

still recommend the G-force in your case Dave. i know of others who have owned both and say the quality IS noticable. the g-force is more powerful, but has older AD/DA converters than the GM-II or G-system - to the G-forces advantage IMHO.

I mainly use delay, reverb and chorus. I rarely use anything else.

Unless you plan to move beyond this, why not grab three nice pedals and put the rest in the bank?

I thought about this as well.

Just the Time and Pitch, really. The Pitch does terrific ambient stuff much like chorus and phasing and so forth. Out of all the pedals, it does the most. I have the Holy Trinity - Time, Pitch and Mod. I use the Mod the least, the Pitch the most, and the Time with most consistency.

This is.................................

.............until I bought my Axe.

I see, I like the mod factor the most and use it the most. I use the time factor with moderation, just there when I want the delay. I haven't ever tried the pitch factor. I may have to buy one soon...

A Tortuga Martini chorus, an El Capistan, and a T-rex Roommate. I get too caught up in setting patches and parameters in the Multi units, and that's what I do during my jam time  Turn a couple of controls, step on the pedal-Done You are too much of a tone purist anyway Dave. Get the pedals.

Yeah the axe ultra may be the best out there, but the price is steep is you're looking for effects only. I got a near mint G force for $800. Perfect for me in value and quality of effects that I need. Keep your eyes open on the used market. Good luck!

I Love my G-MAJOR II.

Very Versatile, and made specifically for Guitar.

Highly Recomended.

*Note: As with all Digital Devices... I refuse to pass my Hard Earned & spent Organic Analogue Signal Through them... Thusly I use a Suhr MiniMix II to just Bleed enough
of the effects in without passing the entire signal through the A To D - D To A Converters.
