i tested out my VHT ultra lead and typically i get a pop sound when switching from orange rhythm channel to lead (red)on the fly...

the pop went off from orange to red channel when i mute strings and halted for a while before going to red..

has anyone who owns a vht ultra lead encounter the similar phenomenon ?

i also found my 50CL does the same when off from red to green and vice versa on the fly...

None of my pittbulls pop when switching channels. All I could suggest is cleaning the contacts on your foot switch and the switchers/head cable connections. Does it pop if you disconnect the foot switch and change channels manually from the front?

Hi thanks for your reply... No I don't normally connect to foot switch... I did my switching from the front panel and I encountered this pop when I switch from orange to red on the fly... But it switched fine without the pop when I mute the string and halted for like 2 seconds before switching from orange to red...

I also realised my beloved 50CL also pop the same phenomenon as my ultra lead.... I wonder if you encounter pop when switching from orange to red on the fly... Maybe is not that obvious as that loud pop sound but its certainly not seamless when switching on the fly... But if you were to mute the strings and hold awhile before switching from orange to red it does fine and no pop...

The ultra lead red to orange however is OK with no pop when switching it on while you play.....

My 50CL used to pop when one channel was set to Hi Gain and one to Normal and there was a large discrepancy in gain ... if both channels were set to similar gain settings (i.e. both Hi Gain or Normal) it wouldn't pop.

I just hook up my 50CL and it pops when switching on the fly... If you could try this set on high gain and master set at about its sweet point 1300hr and channel about 0900hr..... Pick a G note and let ring while switching from green to red or vice versa you hear a 'pop' but if you mute the string to like 2 seconds the switching is normal...

I don't know if its normal...? Anybody try it and let's see if your pittbull pops in that situation? Thanks
