Just wanted to share a very fine experience from my recent birthday weekend.

The family and I started out headed to Memphis, Tennessee. Highly recommended for a
music lover! Great experiences there as well but the best was at the end of of our long weekend.
Yesterday we stopped at WGS headquarters. I had hopes of buying some cool swag and the chance to let them know I was a fan of their work.

They agreed to let me in sell me a few shirts. A guy from the back came out to greet me and helped me with the purchase of a Green Beret. I was super pleased with their hospitality and thanked them for their time. As I walked out the door he came back and offered a tour and revealed himself as the owner and creator of WGS. I was floored! The shop was clean and very innovative. Everyone there showed to love what they do.

I hope everyone that loves their rig like I do will give WGS a chance to complete their tone chain. I know I've tried several other speakers and found many I like but not quite like WGS. So keep on smiling and trying gear till you're happy Riggers!!

I had a couple of the 75's and they were great. If you find the celestion 75's sounding nice but harsh the WGS are a great replacement.
Sounds like a cool experience going to the HQ.

I know someone on here used to work there...I'm sure he might chime in.

Okay, so I have never played any first hand, although I have heard some good clips of the ET65, the veteran, the liberator, and the retro.

If you go on youtube, there is a shirtless weirdo playing his 5150III 50w through liberators and it sounds damn heavy.
Also, Licklighter has mod demos of his 5150 mod through his 4x12 with veterans and it sounds excellent

Yes. Great speakers. I have a Voodoo Amps 4 x 12 load up with Veteran 30s and HM75s in an X pattern and a 2 x 12 with one of each as well. I like them much better than the Celestion equivalent.

The ET 65 is a good representation of a G12 65..I've had a few. Nice speakers!

I might have to check them out then.

The ET65 is a cool speaker. But I disagree that it's a good representation of the G12-65. I own both. My 65's are the Heritage Reissues.

The Celestion has a much fuller frequency range (highs and lows). The WGS is more midrange centered and sounds too polite, round, warm for most of the stuff I do. It also has a very strong nasal quality that I don't hear as much in the Celestions. I do prefer the WGS ET-65 in American voiced amps (i.e. Fender). Maybe the WGS sounds more like the original 65's......I've never used them.

I do like the HM-75 and Retro 30 for some things. I did not like the Invader or Green Beret.

Well, if I'm gonna choose between the Original 65 and the WGS it's gonna be the original. And I'll add that after having 6 G12 65 cabs, all 6 were slightly different but all great with a Marshall. They had like 40 different versions. My favorite are the first version with the Marshall label, which seem brightest. I have a cab like that incoming. The WGS does a good job though, and to my ears it is close to the '83 1960 I had in tone which were the darkest of the versions I had. For those who can't find originals, or who don't want to spend 165 per speaker on the reissues the ET65s are nice..
