Mystery illness struck me down. Anyone have one like this?

Lack of blood flow to brain, whoa….. that sounds worst case.
Or if a fever is high enough to make your brain do that, either way get it checked out. Describe your symptoms as exact as possible to a doctor real soon.

Call an actual doctor and ignore the tinfoil hat wearing goobers on this board. If you are immobilized, there are facilities that still do house calls if needed. But a quick phone call will give you more trustworthy advice than posting on a guitar forum. We don’t need to lose any more brothers around here. Take care of yourself dude.
Called my friend this morning, she is a doctor and she told me to keep drinking fluids and take advil. She said if the symptoms don’t get any better within a couple days to go in but that she has seen this in many people. I am In SF Bay Area and she is in LA and said California is getting obliterated by some sort of bug that knocks you on your ass. In some cases people have been bed ridden for 2 to 3 weeks.

A bug that can make you lose consciousness? That's a pretty bad bug, never heard of anything like that.

The fluids are a good idea to keep you hydrated any time you have a fever. I wonder why she says ibuprofen and not aspirin. I would think thinning the blood would be a good pre-emptive measure.

I would NOT fuck around and wait it out.
Covid or not, look how long our buddy Dan got to stick around to 'talk' to people on the internet.
Your symptoms are pretty severe IMO but I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on the internet.
Get off the internet and get your ass to an ER my friend.

I would demand an MRI of the head, ASAP.

The only problem is that there is not much that they can do for you, and they will never blame the vax.

Or you just wait and see if you drop dead, that's a plan.

Whatever you do, stop drinking Gatorade. Having sugar is the last thing your body needs when fighting a virus...
They have sugar free Gatorade or do some Liquid IV. Just stay hydrated.

Go see a doctor you could have a case of ‘cold’ pneumonia. Inflamation of lung tissues causes lack of oxygenation and dizziness is one of the symptoms. Buy a cheap pulseoxymeter and test yourself a couple times per day.

Theres people who actually feel quite ok and just burnt out and it could be pneumonia where you do not cough out anything during the progress. So they never think it could be in their lungs.

I’ve had a bad case of this shit 3 years back and took two rounds of antibiotics and almost 6 weeks to recover.

Do not wait.

Have you possible had any tick bites recently? A friend had a weird case of Lyme that mimicked what it sounds like you have.
I have Lyme Disease from a tic bite. It almost killed me. A lot of the symptoms are similar but I had no respiratory issues.

Anybody have any brutal illnesses that weren’t Covid? I have a monster of an illness. It cycles between freezing to death cold, then roasting alive followed by a period of relative calm. Before long the freezing shakes return and for 2 of the cycles you haVe a very high fever.

I also have bad body aches,
Over the top fatigue, headaches and slight congestion. Took another Covid test and negative again.

Anybody experienced this nasty illness? Just curious.

What about getting tested for Lyme disease as others have mentioned? Ticks are on the rise, nasty little f_ckers. That's the first thing that came to mind.

Mike, hope your ok man? When I was sick 6-8 weeks ago I had A LOT of the symptoms you are describing. I’m still not right. Be careful if your dizzy. You DO NOT want to lose consciousness and fall. Trust me.
If I can help you out in some way, let me know.

I have been very open here about the severe case of Covid my wife is still recovering from.

I will say three things:
  1. You do not realize how quickly Covid can go sideways. It was 6 hours between everything looking good and her in an ambulance headed to a 6 week stay in the covid ICU.
  2. All of your symptoms can be part of a covid infection. And yes, with severe covid you get “brain fog” and can weave in and out of conciousness, my wife did
  3. My wife tested negative on over the counter Covid tests for 5 days. Next thing we knew she was in the hospital with a <25% chance of survival.
GO TO THE DOCTOR! NOW! If you let covid go and you progress it can get critical quicker than you can imagine. And by critical I mean you will be likely to lose your life.

Get a pulse oximeter. If you are below 92% O2 sat for extended periods, go to the ER immediately.

Last week my mother tested negative on 4 (FOUR!) Binax Now tests. I made her go to a clinic… boom positive on the PCR test.

The fever you describe was exactly as my wife’s was. She would swing from 97.5 to 103.4 and rapidly (less than an hour). She would have the chills then be sweating profusely and be burning up.

The PCR test is the gold standard in Covid detection. Until you get a negative PCR test I would not rule covid out.

Also, you need to move, you have to start Paxlovid within 5 days of symptom onset. Paxlovid helped my 82 year old mother tremendously last week.

If there is one take away from what my wife experienced it is this: if your body does not quickly get a flu-like illness under control within a couple of days get to a doctor without delay.

a fever will scramble thy brains for sure... i ran a fever with the Rona... hallucinated like a MF

weird you mention the tick. old HS buddy got bit by a tick, had lyme...with a round of antibodies overcame , but then got covid. dude lost both lungs, had a dbl lung transplant, only to arrest during his rehab and passed away. the lyme depleted his immune system enough he had little chance. Dude was in phenomenal shape too.

Please take care of yourself and hope you feel better. Nothing worse then no knowing what the ailment is. Don't play a guessing game, see a doctor and get some bloodwork and piss testing done. We don't need to lose another member here. It's been a lousy year thus far for this kind of thing.

Sounds bad, don't fuck around. I would go to the ER, you need tests done.

The dizziness, and the up/down fever sounds a lot like when I had covid. This shit is mutating, and I doubt the current supply of tests are getting everything.
