So I went ahead and traded my 5150 III 100 Watt for this JMP. I am not 100% sure what all the mods that were done by Splawn are. It has a footswitch that was added by Splawn which gives it a solo boost (like a second channel). I only checked it out for a couple of minutes to make sure it was working when he showed up. Sounds good so far. :)

Looks like there's a boost function as per the 'Solo Vol' knob where the old Lo input was - but how to select it?
Also there's been an FX Loop added, but the Return jack is missing? Very simple thing to add back.
This should be a great amp. Nice!

No it's not an effects loop. It's a footswitch that engages that boost you are seeing.

Nice! Congrats. Would love to hear some clips!

I will try to get time to make one later. If you saw my office right now, you would wonder how a hurricane got inside lol.

I had 2 of those. Cool amps. Sounded better when I put 6550s in instead of 88s, for me at least.

Congrats! Looks like one of Scott's older mods, though it also looks like it had some tinkering before Scott. The loop and writing isn't typical, so I assume it was removed and one of the jacks used for solo boost. Scott typically didn't install a 4th preamp tube back in the day either. Regardless of what was done before Splawn modded it, I'm sure it sounds great now...

I'll try to make a clip tonight. Have to get my mess cleaned up.

Sweet! Seems like a good score. Are the speaker jacks wired straight off the OT? I don't see the plug for the impedance selector.

Scott emailed me back and said he remembers modding this one but not all of the mods. He said someone else worked on it after him to add that preamp tube.

Damn man! Congrats. I've never had the nerve to mod one of my marshalls, but I've always liked his take on marshalls.

I should have a clip incoming soon. I just recently bought a new interface (Scarlett 18i8) and for some reason, I am having a hard time figuring out how to make the monitoring work. I just installed the Focusrite Control software that people said I need to use to set up the monitoring - so we will see..

I had a Line 6 UX2 before that and I never had to fuss with any of that... but I got tired of having to turn off my monitors every time I wanted to reboot the machine. It made a "POP!" sound every time the USB engaged when I rebooted the machine - if I forgot to turn off the monitors. No such problem with the Focusrite... but now I haven't figured out the monitoring yet lol.
