Sounds awesomely angry to me! Both channels hold great tones in all gain ranges, except the red doesn't do cleans very well lol.
I use both red and orange for modern because they sound so different, almost like two different amps imo. Definitely not "cloned".

It does a bit yeah, a lot of push going on. But could just be the amp, idk, I have yet to play one.? Someday...
I Notice Actives too mainly due to the Push & the extra high end sizzle/Fizz they add.

Ah gotcha, I dig your chugs with that amp/ pickup/ tubescreamer combo. Sounds like I might have to put the 500T into my Duncan JB replacement consideration along with the Duncan Distortion.
Really articulate and tight. As for the second clip - Jacksons SL2HT loaded with the SD nazgul

Lol, I always highly preferred the red channel to the orange. The Orange always seemed like a bad impersonation of a Mark series to me.

For me it was the exact opposite. I AB’ed years ago my C+ HRG to the red of my friend’s Rev F (since I didn’t know about orange at the time) and thought it was sorta like a not as good mark lol, so mistakenly crossed those early Recto’s off my list. The orange channel has a throaty growl on powerchords that no mark amp remotely has in the cards. I don’t think any non-recto amp I’ve tried really has that unique growl the orange ch has and I’m a big mark fan fwiw
