What’s on top of your head in your vids? I see a pedal and single space rack unit

Pedal is a Bray LO-1, Line out box :) Rack unit is a stereo power amp for WDW setup, powering the wet cabs.

For 50 bucks the Bray does the job well.

I had the big brother 6L6 Stealth..the clarity is definitely improved. But I though it was at the expense, at least a little bit, of the single note lead work tone...the single notes seemed a bit 'thinner'.

I use this saying whenever I can, ha!

But even funnier with how you spelled “hair”

I didn't spell it wrong, if you look at the origin of the expression. It's hare and not hair. *themoreyouknow

Quick clip with some more volume, sounds much better. Some chorus in second clip.

They sounded very similar in the clip but Im sure there are more noticeable differences in the room. What about the clean channel on the stealth 50, the stealth 100w clean would breakup very quickly. Is the clean on the 50w version different ?
+1 I'm curious about this, too. I want to pickup a 5150 III for more versatility over my Peavey 5150 and the Stealth seems to be the closest in tone on the heavier side, so I could theoretically replace my OG 5150 with it and get a more versatile amp... But it also seems like the versatile part of the Stealth is lost to the mods and it makes it meaner sounding, but at the cost of the low/mid gain sounds?

Great sounding clips! Your EVH 50 watt just growls!!!!! I think I like it better than what I heard in my Peavey 6505. I hear a kerrang in the tone that I hear in Cameron amps, I have to say that the EVH50 is right up there with most modded Marshalls. I'd be happy rocking those tones for sure, I keep eyeballing the used ones for sale,  Like I need another amp.... ;) . Your W/D/W just makes it sound huge and takes the tone to another level......

Are you boosting this amp any or are you straight in? What pickups?

What delay type are you using in the clips SD3000? What ms of delay time are you using?

Have you tried the Plexi/Echoplex delay in your DD500 yet? It sounds really good, it really does capture what my old EP3 echoplex sounded like, I was shocked! The echoplex setting in under PLEXI if you want to try it. I play it as much as the SD3000.

Thanks for all your info on the DD500, I'm really enjoying mine, probably the best purchase I have made in a long time, all the delays are just excellent and very rack like high quality.

Thanks ! Its a good amp for sure, has some growl to it.

The amp is boosted with Maxon OD808, amp gain is set low. Guitar is 2006 20th anny PRS Singlecut, all stock with PRS Dragon II pickups. Delay was Dual delay I think, 250ms and 500 ms per side. I use different delay setting, from SDE3000 to Pattern delay, depends. I also like DD500, will try that Plexi setting :)

Grats on the new amp! My 6L6 5153 is one of only two amps I regret selling.

That blue channel!

What file name is the Dual Delay selection in the DD500 is it under Dual?

Cool, I'm gonna mess around with that, Thanks! I think you'll like the Plexi/echoplex emulation. I don't recall what the Bank number it is stored under just look around until you find it but it is named Plexi. I printed all the prestored factory presets but I can't find the sheet to tell you what bank number it is.

This clip sounds sick. Now that you have the amp for a few days, how would you compare it to the Peavey 5150?

I like the Peavey 5150 with a boost a lot, but the 50w Stealth seems like a cool amp too.

Here's everyone's favorite measure of true tone: A crappy cell phone video!

All EQ, presence and resonance are set to noon, gain at 1 oclock.

Thanks man!

I would say, the stealth is overall cleaner and way more refined than the original Peavey 5150. It's not the massive wall of sound that the original is, but I find this to be a good thing in certain situations. It's the tone we all know and love, but cleaner, tighter, clearer, yet still pissed off as it ever was.

Thanks for the reply. This amp is very tempting. Did you use a boost in this clip?

Yessir, I'm a boost, no matter what type of guy. Haha.

First of all hello, as it's my first post on the forum.

I bought one but decided that I liked my original 6L6 50 watt more and sold the stealth.
How can you compare those? Can you also tell the difference in weight? As I red, the Stealth should be like 4kg lighter than the original. I have an Original, and would like to switch, or just compare those two.
