She's finally here. 6L6 version. MY GOD. GAS is well and truly killed. Bogner has truly kicked it out of the park with this amp:

I've played her for a couple of hours, and my amp search is over. The Herbert for the broots (and flexibility on top!), the Bogner for warmth and just about everything else.

UNBELIEVABLE amp...so much honest, woody PURE tone, so much character. I can see why Mo and others rave about it so much - I'm really struggling to think of another amp I'd like to own (OK OK, maybe a VHT Pitbull UL ;).

Current favourite settings...the plexi mode (I cannot make it sound bad!), ch. 3 with the gain at around 11.00 and high treble (real 80s snarl) and the clean channel....wow...with the 6L6s I'd put it up against most Fenders out there.

Sorry about the disjointed post but I am in tone nirvana!

Cool. I've been thru a number of Bogners over the years and this one takes the cake for me. Enjoy!

Thanks all. I'm absolutely in love with this amp!!! I cannot stand Marshalls, but I've always coveted that midrange growl they get, but with none of the flubbiness. This amp does that. It fucking nails it with so much ease, and adds its own dollop of soul to the mix. With 6L6 tubes! Unbelievable...

A little early, but is it your favorite ever?

It's too early! However, I get the feeling it's going to be up there with the Herbert for me (yes, I am a Herbert fanboy!). Just such a fantastically well made and designed amp. Playing an a minor chord in the plexi mode makes my hair stand on end, y'know? It's just...got it. In SPADES.

Certainly the best classic rock tone I have ever heard so far.

I LOVE the 20thA X's man!!! MEGA MEGA CONGRATS!!!!!! It's over the top, pure tonal bliss, and offers oodles of terrain to work with from both sides of the sonic spectrum. Love the tolex, love the vibe, dude - again - I know what it's like to get one of these into one's hands, and I know you'll be busy for a long long while...congratulations!!!

Now, here's a project for ya, try as hard as you can to make it sound like shit

Impossible.

ENJOY!!!!!

Grats! Have you ever tried a 101B? Curious to hear how it compares.

Grats! I have owned the EL version for almost a year now, and it makes me grin every time I play through it.

I totally understand...I am sporting the same rig, Herbert and 20th XTC. The key now is to get two stacks of Diezel cabs, like I have :D It just doesn't get much better than that!!

I have been stuck on the blue channel of the XTC and just having OMG moments over and over and over...like OMG this sounds amazing, then 3 seconds later, OMG, this sounds AMAZING, etc...

Congrats on one of the most versatile and well rounded set-ups available today, IMO.

Don't get me wrong, I have other amps that I also love, however these two together have something truly special.

Keep us posted, if you can pry yourself away from playing long enough to post

Haha, cheers Mo! It was actually your (and others') enthusiasm for this amp that initially got me interested in it. Bad for my wallet, GREAT for my tone. Couldn't be happier with this amp...absolutely storming bit of kit.

Would be interesting to compare clips of your EL34 version to my 6L6 so people can more easily decide which is for them: seems that question gets asked a lot.

Yup, that's pretty much been my reaction so far. Every channel is just jaw-droppingly awesome. The 20th XTC and the Herbert together has, I can genuinely say, KILLED my amp GAS. I'm only keeping the Mark IV because it can do the 80s thrash thang better than any other amp I have. Powerball (currently in my band's studio) will soon be replaced by a 5150II - the PB sounds cheap and nasty compared to the Diezel whereas the 5150II has got its own thing going on.

WHAT AN AMP!!!!!
