Don't do these very often but thought I give a honeymoon post on THE DAY of purchase. Still high from the glue fumes off of the fresh tolex........ I feel so young again. :D

Bogner Brixton and Goldfinger 2x12 open back with G12H and Greenback. Nice raw sounding little rig with great dynamics and reaction to picking/guitar volume. Plenty of gain, well for me anyway, and the voicing switch gives a good variety of gain and vintage to modern EQ focus..... again for me and my tastes. It's kinda like what I wished the gain channel of the Goldfinger 45 was. I really liked the Goldfinger but wanted something a bit less modern even the pushed 60's mode. I ride this line of wanting the right mix of modern tone and vintage.... hard for me to find in one head. I guess there is something to be said about really simple circuits. Thinking of going with a Barcelona head and cab for a pedal -> clean head vibe since at times like that kind of rig.

It's not even out of the store in the picture. :emofag: :grim:

Here comes the smart ass post from Rogue.  :D

Very nice!

Congrats on a nice rig.

I dig those international series bogners. Picked up the New Yorker myself. I bet that thing breathes well thru that cab.

15 watts right? Did they ever come out with the 30 watt brixton? Seems like a cool amp. Congrats!!

Ah, I love the sound of tubey analogue goodness in the morning. And the evening too. You can use that other thing when you have to. What's it called again?

Thanks!

I havent seen a 30 watt version. This one is loud enough for my purposes.

lol congrats man...and great minds think alike! viewtopic.php?f=3&t=131614

I'm a bit surprised that you think the GF is too modern - I'm not feeling that. But I haven't had a chance to try the Brixton either. I resisted the urge to pull the trigger on a used one more than once...

You got me beat though...an in-store picture! That's gotta be a record....

Too modern may be a little misleading in that it's hard more me to put into words what I look for. The GF is IMHO one of more vintage sounding Bogners to me but when compared to the Brixton it sounded a bit more refined which isn't always bad. I've had this idea lately of getting lower watt simple circuit heads instead of one amp to try and get it all. That said if I were to get a channel switcher, the GF or the new Atma would be in front of the pack.

Congrats!! Very cool amp.

Oh yeah and the in store pic was one I texted Rogue to make him laugh. It was so over the top in NAD amp purchase gayness I had to post it. :D

There's something to be said for the pure feel and tone of a simple amp. Single channel, minimal tone controls. That's what makes the Budda Twinmaster one of my all-time faves. If the Brixton is in that vein but with a Bogner flavor I'm sure I would love it...

And I don't know about you but I'm wishing they had put metal handles into the side of that cab...
