Might be because of the extra Tube Harmonics and probably an extra push with the volume maxed. With the BAD model I like the tone better with the loop on and at max, even with nothing plugged in. Odd.

It's a more or less a 5150 II. Or the other way aroundAlways thought of the crunch channel as more plexi-ish myself, but maybe JMP 2203 is the right answer. Anyhoo, like I said I think it´s best to think of it as a classic Marshall but voiced to take an overdrive without thinning out too much. Sounds fat with strats too, as a bonus, as Clapton and Knopfler noticed.
The OD channel is tighter than the crunch, but it is a natural and rich sound that isn´t super tight like stuff is today. As the ads stated at the time, an amp for the modern soloist. Even Lynch thought it needed a boost for his style way back in the day, so the chug dudes of today will probably do so too.
Great Amps for sure.Very happy with my Bogner Helios Eclipse and my Engl Artist Edition E651 for "modded Marshall" tones.
I recommend a Marshall JCM 900 Model 2100 SL-X![]()
I was in contact with Pierangelo. I was interested in the Apocalypse, but i checked out all the other stuff as well. You can't use the Head without the Footswitch. He offered me to custom mod it if i like it, but there's only one small Shop in Germany who carries them so i never tried it out. They have a return policy, but they make it clear on their Homepage one should only buy something, when one intends to keep the item(s). And the resale value of the Mezzabarba's is not good. I'd rather get the real deal.A buddy of mine had one of the original SLOs back in the late 80s. It sounded incredible. He sold it when he moved to a Bradshaw rack system and still regrets that sale. I always thought the Mezzabarba clips I have heard online sound incredible, and only recently read how close that circuit is to the SLO - but with maybe a bit more low end and more raw mids (?) Anyway, if I was in the market for a Soldano, I'd sure want to test drive a Mezza before making up my mind.
Lets see if it also goes super fast when you find out that you still like your Lenz better, againSoooo, it all went super fast and i have a chance it's already here tomorrow.
We will see.Lets see if it also goes super fast when you find out that you still like your Lenz better, again![]()
