It's more of an 800 style crunch but yes, it's not a clean channel by any means. Channel 1 has more gain on tap than a stock 800.

Those are not at all my preferred regular settings. That was more like an experiment at the time to try get a more kerrang-y, grindy, brighter Marshall type sound out of it. It wasn't bad though and at least somewhat got that sound set like that. Despite it looking so extreme plenty of other amps sound a lot brighter and harsher than that with much more normal looking settings

The Blue channel can do a plexi style cleanish edge of break up. Very dynamic.
Red volume maxed, blue gain set to about 4 and the FX vol set to taste.
Guitar is an Anderson strat in the neck pickup. Reverb from a delverb in the front of amp.

I played @Jdub's yesterday for all of about 10 minutes and it was good, really good. I didn't need any longer than that to know I liked it. Its a good thing I really like what I have and have been gigging with because otherwise I would chase one of those

I think the blue channel is decent, but next to my plexi and jb45 it is just that. decent.. nothing too special. The red channel is a lot of fun! I would not go so far as to call it a one trick pony, but the high gain saturated tones are what it excels at.

Have some of you been able to compare those new "Reissue" Snorkler 50 VS some old original "Snorkler mod" Marshall that Reinhold was doing at the time?
I've been really curious about that.

I have had 3 earlier Bogner modded Marshalls and none of them had anywhere near the gain the Snorkler. One of them I got from Todd D. and sold to Steve K. That one was very unlike the others. It was a beast.. It had two modes like the Snorkler but the volume was unmanageable without an attenuator. The others had a more useable Master volume but were not as aggressive and only single mode.. I have also played one other many many times that was built for my friend Toru in the early to mid 90's that was very similar to the red mode on the Snorkler, but it did not have a lower gain mode. Cool amp. Another friend of mine now owns that amp and will a/b someday in the future.. He lives a couple hours away.

Yeah, it was all about that drive channel for me, that was killer. Your Plexi was nuts too though, kind of a tossup

Having just picked up Helios 50 and being in love with it can anyone compare it to the Snokler?

Helios is cool, but it sounds a little congested compared to Snorkler. The Snorkler feels and sounds more alive and harmonically rich. The channels are also a bit more complimentary to one another and accessible via foot switch so that is another bonus. Helios with the EQ bypassed gets a bit closer and cops a better plexi vibe, but the Snorkler has more satisfying high gain tones for me.
