NAD! Bugera 6260 on SDOTD.

So I woke up this morning to the MF stupid deal of the day, a Bugera 6260 head for $199 shipped. Hell yeah I said, and bought it. I really love the Peavey 6505 sound but it's out of the budget so I'm pretty pumped. What do I need to know about this thing? I have cabs with V30s so hopefully it's a good match.

yeah that is a crazy price for a 120 watt tube amp of any sort.

They had an issue early on with connectors melting due to heat. Noones ever complained about the tone though, since they've cloned the original amps circuits. That's a crazy low price. I have a used DSL 100H on hold right now...as a backup to my Jubilee. Maybe I should bite the bullet on one of these cheapos!

For that price you could just go in and remove all the molex connectors and replace the wiring with teflon coated wire and not be worried about originality.

Sorry I haven't filled in. I plugged the amp in, and I thought the tone sucked so bad I put it right back in the box & sold it for a profit. It was super noisy (not in a good way) and just not tight. Moving on.

Had one 3 years ago, hated it. It's supposed to be 5150 clone?? Lol

Did you bias it or see how mis-matched up the tubes were? That is the main issue in all of these heads. The power tubes are junk and/or highly mismatched.

I've had no problems with any of these "on sale" Bugeras once the power tubes are replaced and the amp is biased up. I do change the pre-amp tubes as well though too.

I didn't, good thought for others though. It was so far off of how happy I am with my Diavlo that I just boxed it up.
