Congrats! Absolutely amazing amp. I'm sorry that mine is in the chopping block.

I'm anxious to hear a quality demo of one of these. Never been able to find one to play in person... Always been curious. Happy NAD!

A VH4 now? When will the madness end? But hey , if you can afford madness carry on and enjoy it.Great amp but I think it maybe to modern for what you are going for.

i get the feeling this amp will suit a LP very nicely.

keen to hear how it sounds after all your modded Marshall stuff

I love the vh4, i feel dirty saying that after many years of saying i hate the vh4.
But my feelings have changed and its one of my favorite amps and the amp ive played most in the last 3 months.

Because the newer ones sound better IMO. Peter must think so as well, hence the changes.

the thing that amazed me about the VH4 was it seemed like no matter what you played it sounded great and responded to your playing.
Example....I usually left all the settings about noon on channel 3. If I played an AC/DC song....it sounded awesome. Go straight into playing a Slayer song without touching the settings.....sounded like it was ment to be played in that tone. Then jump to Metallica.....then Kiss....etc...just responded to what I was playing perfectly.
Sounds like I am rambling here....
But hope what I said made a little sense. :D

I only sold mine to get a Herbert(Great amp as well) but I much preffer the VH4.
Going to be my next purchase.

Question for Diezel owners, this amp really lends itself to being a pedal platform.

How are you guys using pedals in your rigs? I found the Suhr Koko Boost to be the perfect lead tone on Channel 3.

Channel 4 is the only part of the amp I have yet to bond with...
Interesting. For the me the VH4 weened me off of most predals altogether. It was a pure amp. I didn't run anything up front other than compressor and wah when needed - no boost, no OD, no silly shit. Ran the TimeFactor in the loop. Really required less and less augmentation than most other amps - IMHO, YMMV.

I agree with this. However, the VH4 is also a great platform for time-based effects as well as filter-based stuff like flanger, phaser, chorus, etc. What it doesn't need are effects such as compression, OD, distortion, boost, and so on. The amp really delivers a solid foundation. It's one of my all-time, if not my most, favorite amp ever in the history of ever. It's ballsy and when you crank the mids and go easy on the bass and gain, it growls and snarls and punches you in the throat.

Im glad peter made the changes or i would still hate the vh4.
Funny how its minor and some dudes say they cant really hear the difference, but theres also guys like us that hear it. Whatever he did was enough to make me love the amp. Everybodys ears hear different things.
