Always wanted one of these.

:)

I officially have way too many amps for not being able to play all that well!

One of my favorite amps of all time.
An absolute beast.

Cool score man!!
Your as bad as me.....when ever I go visit relatives out of state....
I scope out the local pawnshops for gear. :D

Holy Shnikes dudeman!! Nice score!! I see a new mini-amp-fest in our near future!

Cool amp... that pic was of my SE EL34 when I sold it. A really great and versatile amp.

Me to you just don't know what you may find.

Nice Rich. I'm actually in NYC right now too, what a coincidence. Leaving back home tomorrow, been here a week. Believe it or not-I didn't even look at craigslist, no gear hunting at all.

How unlike you!

Funny, im heading down to Brooklyn tonight for a family thing (a cousin's wedding), and am flying back to LA tomorrow as well!

Ain't that a coicidence!

HNAD! I still have mine. Sadly I have been thinking of selling it because it has way too many options for what I need. I feel I am not doing it any justice. I may keep it, it does sound neato.

The SE is a balls out, over the top, metal machine. They never leave you wanting "more".

I'm back in LA now. JFK to LAX? Virgin America flight 409? Now THAT'D be a crazy coincidence.

The SE came in today, and after I got home from work (around 10pm) I got it out of the box (the box looks beat, but the amp was safe (I packed it), and fired it up.

WOW.

Just....

WOW!

I have had a Powerball (1) in the past, and thought it sucked ass. I sold it quicker than any amp I have ever owned.
I kind of thought after that ENGL amps were not for me.

However, I have always been intrigued by the ENGL SE EL34, and decided to go Diezel before ENGL.

I'm very glad I did, as my I liked my Herbert, then liked my VH4 even more (and sold the Herbie), and I really do like my VH4...it has great tone...

But I'll tell you...
I'm up to 12 amps nowadays...and IF I had gotten this ENGL SE long ago, I highly doubt I would have as many amps right now.

I haven't even gotten to crank it all that high (but high enough to start getting it dialed in), and I walked out of my guitar room tonight just saying WOW as I walked out of there...

It's like a VH4, mixed with a Herbert, mixed with a Marshall, with lots of bass and depth, yet, so much balls...and clarity, with the ENGL voicing...(obviously)...

For the 1st time in a very long time, I am pretty happy with a new amp! (that last time I was this happy was my Friedman modded Marshall)!

Can't wait to use it at my next upcoming shows!

BTW, this was NOT your amp.

I just grabbed that 1st photo off of google images.

;)

enjoy man.

I went from my se to the Herbert and never regretted it. It all falls down to personal prefferences.
I had the 6l6 version. There are alot of options on the amp, i spent more time changing settings than playing guitar ;)

Be carefull with the low end on that beast
