Does your BE have Tung-Sol's in V1 & V2 like Dave is recommending now? I put a Tung-Sol in V1 of my BE yesterday and it made a pretty big difference for the better...

No and based on his advice and your clips I think I need to change them.

How loud was your amp on those clips and I'm assuming that was HBE?

Oops. I'm so confused. Only have had the amp for 3 days and everyone is making me paranoid about what its "supposed" to sound like. Aaaah!! Lol

The clips did sound different than mine that's why I asked about volume.

I accidentally left SAT on when I switched to HBE the other day and it was loads of gain yet super tight.

Here's a clip I did after I first got it. Super sloppy playing but I'm on HBE with the gain at 7. I'm going to make new clip once I get some Tung Sol and Ruby tubes.

It doesn't have to be Tung Sol necessarily. When Dave shipped my amp (and after we spoke) he had it with a Sovtek in V1, 2 GT Chinese AX7's in V2 and V3 and an EHX in V4.

I have it loaded this way: V1 Svetlana V2/V3 GT AX7 V4: Sovtek. It's going to be V1: Ruby AC5HG+ V2: Tung Sol V3: Ruby V4: Tung Sol.

The EJ tone clip was HBE and a Strat. The other clip was Sykes LP Custom on BE with NO Sat/45/Fat. Both clips were with M75/H75 65 watt Scumbacks in a very old Bogner straight cab. The clips were made before Dave installed the VH switch ad before the Tung-Sol V1 tube. I'll make another clip this week with the new version...

If someone brings a Naked, we have a beer called Naked made by New Glarus. Pretty decent lighter guzzling beer but with decent flavor. I will say, I'm glad they don't make one called brown eye...or worse yet, hairy brown eye

We should really set up an ampfest in Green Bay. I'm in the U.P. (upper MI) but GB is only a couple hours away. I'll bring my Mark IV.

We gotta get J.B. in on this as well. We talked about it like a year or two ago and he said he'd be down. He was recovering from a shattered knee at that time but I'm sure he can haul his Fortin over now. Dude always has awesome amps. Let's do this!

So, all my previous clips had the SAT switch On...which is pretty much a gain boost.

In this clip, the SAT switch is Off and it's just raw HBE. It is extremely clean, punchy and articulate.

Nice! Your clips are great......is this a keeper for you?

My BE100 is my favorite tube amp. The model in my Axe-II(v10)sounds spot on as well, I can literally dial the knobs exactly like on my real one. Good times......

What bridge pickup is in that Strat? Does that cab have V30s like your 2x12?
