So, I decided to get another one. Both of my other ones were very early models, and I thought I read Dave on here stating that they did some voicing tweaks in later editions. This one is newer, and, to my ears, noticeably warmer, and more aggressive. It doesn't have more gain, (to my ears), but different..

Today, I put JJ KT77's in it, and biased it to 33mA. I put a Mullard CV4004 in V1, a Tungsol in V2, left a JJ in V3, and put a balanced Sovtek LPS in V4. Holy shit.. The tone! I boosted it with multiple pedals, and oddly enough, my 15 year old, beat up Zakk Wylde OD eats it up! It sounds fabulous! Angry, yet clear as a bell. I've found, (which I really didn't explorer with the others), is the presence knob really brings the goods. Running it high, and the treble at noon, it's adding a good bit of hair, with no harshness. My only complaint, is it lacks big bottom end. But, an EQ in the fantastic loop solves that. Killer amp, third time's definitely a charm with this amp. I couldn't be happier!

Happy NAD! That's great to hear it's warmer, that was a huge difference I noticed when directly comparing the Runt 50 to BE-100 a few years ago. I like that you describe it as more aggressive without more gain.
