Picked up a Runt 50 today. So far I am really digging this thing. Much more “Marshall” sounding than the BE100D I had. I’ve got some nice Bandlands tones kicking so far. Pairs very well with my 1982 Marshall cab loaded with G1265s.

The Runt 50 flies under the radar and is totally underrated.

Dave has said that the Runt 50 is his favorite production amp in the Friedman lineup.
I agree with him.
For what I like to play, it's perfect.
Too bad I don't own one, dammit.
LOL

Regarding the demo guitar, the guitarist wrote: "same specs as Richies, but not a true Sambora Signature by Fender ;)I changed the bridge PU to a '78 Duncan and modified the wiring a bit..Great Guitar!"

Dammit now I want a Duncan 78. Again. LOL

I don´t know why these didn´t really fly when he launched them, at the time it seemed like everyone just kept buying the PTs instead. I´ve played a 50 a few times and thought it was cool.

Traded a Marshall Jubilee RI half stack for a Runt 50 and $300.
The Runt was a great amp.

Because the snobs had a problem with it being PCB and not handwired.

These amps really light up with good tubes/warmer bias, and even more so with a Hot Mod.

I actually thought about buying a Runt50 for a long time. I kept asking if Dave could add the trump, sat switch, hbe -- basically all the mods of the BE50. I decided it was just easier to buy a BE50. A lot of people say the Runt has a more open tone than the BE series.

They sell pretty cheap on the used market.

Happy new amp day! I've always wanted to try a Runt 50 but never saw one in a store. If it is indeed more "open" sounding than some of his other stuff I think I'd like it.
