Just got this one from Dave today and it's off the charts! Much different than the BE. Both channels are just killer IMHO. Thx Dave!

Hell Yeah... Congrats. I would expect a little more 'open' type gain and feel. Cheers

I've had mine a week now, I absolutely love both channels!! Just perfect!!! Enjoy!!!

I'm curious how much gain this has with the boost switch on the back engaged? Have either of you spent much time dialing that in?

Anybody comment on how close Dave could get a handwired JMP 100 watter wit the SS spec mod to one of these??
Id love one but cant afford it lol

Congrats!! A lot of press and hype over this amp - looking forward to hearing what it can do

Say, whose shoes are under the table? Is it me or are they super small?? If it's kids' shoes, no biggy, but I'm always keen to know who keeps a midgy 'round the homefront.

Congrats! Always liked the clips I have heard on this amp. Like to test drive one someday. :D

Maybe they are his stage shoes when he rocks on Bowies "Little China Girl"

Much different then the be ? How so? Is the overdrive at all similiar to the be ? How much more gain can be squeezed out when using the back switch?

very cool - I played one at the L.A. Amp Show a couple weekends ago - that is a killer amp!!!!

Could you go into a bit of detail on that? I thought it was essentially a minor revoicing of the BE channel but "much different" indicates otherwise.

The gain switch does exactly as expected, more saturation and maybe more compressed? I've only used it at lower volume so far! I prefer the amp without the gain switch activated! Both channels just Bloom!! note's and chord's ring through perfectly.

The SS & BE are both great amps but different to my ear. The SS is not just a slightly re-voiced BE. The primary differences are that the OD channel is a bit thicker/fatter on the SS(each string is extra fat) and the clean channel(voiced just like a Fender Twin) on the SS is just flat out better to my ears. The SS also has a little more sag overall in the OD channel. I put Tung Sol 12AX7's in V1 & V2 last night and it's just perfect for me now. Interestingly enough, the SS has 5-12 AX7's versus the BE which has 4-12AX7's. All that said, I love both of these amps! Gonna be using them both on my new EP.

Checking this thread again, hoping for clips and/or pics of the homefront midgy.
