Just got this one from Dave today and it's off the charts! Much different than the BE. Both channels are just killer IMHO. Thx Dave!

The gain switch does exactly as expected, more saturation and maybe more compressed? I've only used it at lower volume so far! I prefer the amp without the gain switch activated! Both channels just Bloom!! note's and chord's ring through perfectly.

The SS & BE are both great amps but different to my ear. The SS is not just a slightly re-voiced BE. The primary differences are that the OD channel is a bit thicker/fatter on the SS(each string is extra fat) and the clean channel(voiced just like a Fender Twin) on the SS is just flat out better to my ears. The SS also has a little more sag overall in the OD channel. I put Tung Sol 12AX7's in V1 & V2 last night and it's just perfect for me now. Interestingly enough, the SS has 5-12 AX7's versus the BE which has 4-12AX7's. All that said, I love both of these amps! Gonna be using them both on my new EP.
