I actually traded that Mark III I sold you way back when for this amp. Sold that amp to you...bought it back from whoever you sold it to or maybe it was a couple owners down the road, then traded it for this...that amp made the rounds!

I sold my Mark III to Nate several years back as well.....he was such a amp whore.

Nice versatile rig ya got there!

Just was tearing it up through it for a few here. The Recto is the thickest of them all (obviously!) and just gets real aggressive and huge sounding. I have the Fryette set up for a similar sound (before I had the Recto I had it set up like it apparently!), but it's clearer, a little less low end, and seems to cut a little better. The .50 Caliber + has the least amount of gain and I need to really take more time to dial it in. It was my first tube amp and I loved the thing, so I should really take some time to get it dialed in again...right now I have it set up for a little less gain (still enough for metal though, you've just got to work for it!) and more like a Mark than the other two. Comparing the Sig:X to my old Mark III, it seems to sit in between the Mark and Recto maybe? Thicker than the Mark, but not boomy and more cutting than the Recto. The Sig:X is still my favorite, but having options is nice

Thanks for all the kind words!

For sure! Don't you have both a Sig:X and a Trem-O-Verb?

Yes I do .... and few others.

I also like the Sig X better .... but the Tremoverb has a voicing that is different. My main rig for many years was a Mark IV & Tremoverb .... I still have both.

The Tremoverb is a bit smoother than the other DR's from that era. The clean is actually very good & the blues channel with it's midrange hump kind of reminds me of a combination of a DR & Mark III.

The Sig-X by far is the multi-channel amp I use the most.

I'd love a Tremo-o-Verb some day. And a Sig X

HNAD :rawk:

now just hike that 212 up off the floor!
