NAD - Herbert Suhr Reactive Load action

OK, so I took a job in San Francisco last year and commute back to Atlanta when I can...I have a little apartment in SF and have been using the AxeFx2 with a Mission Enginerring Gemini 2 (2x12) FRFR and really love it. Good setup and even brought some pedals and add in to try different things.

But I got a trade offer for the elusive amp of my dreams; the Diezel Herbert. I've wanted one for years and every time I have money, I can't find a used one and when they're offered up, it's bad money timing for me. I definitely wanted it in San Fran with me to play, so I went the Suhr Reactive load route. I already had the Axe-Fx2 and Cab Lab. And the coolest thing, the Mission Gemini speaker system has USB, so using Cab Lab in standalone mode and selecting the Gemini as my audio output works perfectly.

So my route is guitar -> pedal board -> Herbert -> Suhr RL -> into Apogee Duet -> Cab Lab -> Gemini FRFR
SOUNDS AMAZING !! and i haven't even added anything into the effects loop of the Herbert yet.
The only thing I really need to be careful of is the Herbert is 180W and the Suhr RL is 100W, so I have the Herbert volume about 10 o'clock. I'm not sure how many watts that is, but I'm sure it would be loud as hell with a normal cab.

I tried going guitar -> pedal board -> Herbert -> Suhr RL -> Axe-Fx2 -> Gemini FRFR. I setup a preset with only the Cab loaded on it, but for whatever reason, it was just fizzy and shrill sounding. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong, but I gave up on that route.

Herbert is probably the baddest amp on the planet... but that's just my humble opinion.

Which Impulse Responses are you using?

I have 3 of the Cab packs from the Fractal Site:
Cab Pack 23: ML USA Citrus 2x12 - which are orange and mesa cabs
Cab Pack 24: ML Dizzy 4x12 - which are the Diezel K100 and V30 cabs
ML Bulb Zilla - which are a bunch of flavors of Zilla 2X12 cabs

The Diezel IR's sound great with Herbert. I've gone through about 10 different IR's today playing with it today and they sound really good. Cab lab is awesome for mixing 3 or 4 IR's together too. This definitely sparks gas to try other IR's. I will try some from the Celestionplus site for sure. It feels like Christmas and opens up the amp world more than I've felt it in a long time. I am already thinking of how other amps would sound with this setup, haha.

I know there are several threads on here about the Suhr RL and Two Notes stuff. Man I would really recommend giving it a try. The Suhr RL and Cab lab works great together and I am sure the two Notes stuff would be awesome as well.
