But correct me if i'm wrong. The JCM 800 Bass series isn't like a JMP Super Bass. JCM 800 Bass is actually a bass amplifier and does not sound anyway near a JMP Super Bass.

Peter, that is correct. These amps in their stock state are a tube bass amplifier. They do have 99% the same power section as a 2203. It's the preamp section that's all weird :D

I have to re-work the circuit board quite a lot on these 800 Bass heads when I mod them. The filtering gets completely changed and wired up differently. Also I have to replace almost all the components. So they end up being more of a rebuild than a regular 'mod'.

Thanks for the review Charles! It was a pleasure meeting you yesterday and I enjoyed hanging out/talking guitar gear with you as well. It's always awesome getting to meet my customers and I look forward to catching up again soon :rawk:

Hope you have a lot of fun with the Marshall, that amp is so much fun to play. I bet you'll soon be adding a Charvel to your collection too right? :D

Likewise Dan. Yes...I'm already on the hunt for a Japanese So-Cal. Yours is killer.

We'll arrange a time soon for you to check out the Strymon and Eventide. I have a feeling you'll gravitate towards the latter!

Nice amp and congrats!! Clips would be icing on the cake though!

Awesome, I look forward to that! However.. I fear that getting to try out your collection of Strymon/Eventide pedals is going to lead to my bank account taking a beating :D haha!

Congrats! Would so very much like one of those!

Man.. a few month ago a stock 79 super bass jmp went up on "our local..u know" for 3000,-DKK (500USD). I called prompte on it when I saw it.. was being picked up as I called. BUMMER!

Loving this even more after a few days...it can do ANYTHING! Killer, killer amp.

And it will get better over time too. That amp had been burned in for approx 24 hours before you collected it. Once it's been played for around 100 hours, all the new signal caps/components will have fully broken in and it'll sound it's best :rawk:

WTF!! Didn't see that one!

Must have missed this one, congrats on the KK++. I have one and it's an awesome amp. You have a very nice collection of amps, the best of all worlds.

Thanks - it's killer and Dan does superb work. I've been building up my collection for a couple of years now...the only change I might make would be to replace the boogie with a vintage Fender :-)

Will try to record some clips this week!

I've had my KK++ since November and I'm still finding tones in it.

Had mine for a couple months now and haven't got to spend too much quality time with it. But, I am just back from a 10 day holiday in Bali and me and the King Kali++ are going to get very acquainted over the next few days.....

Make some clips guys... I'd like to hear how heavy and modern this can get for a modded Marshall.

Jason (Killertone) made several heavy/modern clips of his. Mike Fortin did the mod to Jason's amp but the Killer Kali++ Mod i do is the exact same circuit/spec, since Mike shared all the mod info and schematics with me.

This sounds pretty heavy and modern to me
