Very nice demo man. Can you tell me a bit about your experience with the crunch lab pick up, can it do articulate metal chugga chugga or is it more geared towards a smoother sound?
The crunch lab is a renamed Drop Sonic, I think. So any vids that would cover a D sonic should be real close for the crunch lab.

Not exactly from what I've been told. The newer pickups JP is using are warmers than the D sonic and the custom pickup DiMarzio was making for the EBMM JP guitars.

I wonder about two things:
1.Would they sound even better with EL34s?

2.Should i take a 50W or a 100W? The 50W is a little cheaper and comes hopefully with a bit of bonus power tube breakup

I just returned from GC and I tried a Jet City combo (20watt-1x12). I played with a strat. Dimed the gain and got nice dirty blues tones. It cleaned up really nice with the volume knob. The cleans were kind of Fenderish. I was pretty impressed.
Congrats on your new amp day.

Gotcha, I stand corrected.

Here is a more professional demo...

Man this board loads fast... HC has gone the wrong direction..

The amp sounds great......but no offense fastredponycar or whatever......less talk more play.....we all know how to dial in an amp.........well most of us.........  ;)

LOL... Actually most of his demos have less talking, it was just because that was his first full demo of it..

i was there with mark and the cleans really sparkle! the dirty sound was sweet. the emeinence speaker sounded very good, i belive it was running 6L6 tubes and 12ax7's $499.00 kinda sweet. ;)

hey eternal, glad to see you're still digging the amp

Yes it is very digg-able.. Do you remember what tubes came in your Soldano Hotrod 50+??

funny i just had a look in preparation for changing, there was sovtek 6L6GC and 12AX7's

You mean for that kind of money it doesn't have fancy-ass cork sniffing tubes in there??

  oh yeah? what you got? NOS philips? :gethim:

actually, corksniffing is forthcoming, was thinking about these

No, mine are some kind of Chinese 12ax7 and 6L6wgb tubes... I bet it would breath fire if I put some SED or JJ's in the power section...
