I think the lack of a mid tone control that shapes the mids does keep you from finding anything resembling a Marshally tone. The GEQ doesn't shape the same. Also, the gain is very driven & focused. To get that British sound I think you'd need it to be more loose, and that's not easy to find in this amp. That said if you're looking for the American scooped Mesa tone, this amp kills.
If you want all tones in one amp, go get a Line 6.![]()
