Found a minty Mesa Jp2c on reverb, dude was local. We worked out a deal, and he was cool Enough to drop it off to me today.
Delivery on like new gear is awesome Hahah!!!
It has the Mesa box and all the covers and fs and manual. Nice.
Got it for a great price, and still has years of warranty left (since it’s only a couple years old).
Really liking it, great tight tones so far. More to come, but I’ve missed the Mesa mark tone. It can get brutal! Can nail me some ‘tallica

Not my settings in this first pic: just had to snap some NGD pics :)

Congrats! I'm interested in playing one of these. Played a Mark V last week, first time playing any Mark series amp, and thought it was pretty dang cool. Crank it & enjoy

I think Brandon has owned 80 percent of all the tightest metal amps at any given time lol.

Congrats man. Was dismayed to see you 86 the modded slax but I’m no stranger to the pangs of GAS so I can’t talk.

We need videos!

Great amp. I know a lot of guys use channel 2 with EQ1 and channel 3 with EQ2 but for some reason it seems to get most brutal for me when using channel 2 with EQ2. Weird since I thought both EQ's were the same. Could be just in my head.

On my list. My Mk III beat out my Mk V. Was going to get a Mk V 35 but want the jP2C.

Congrats

Congrats dude! Enjoy! The new mesa sound a bit compressed for my liking but this is a beauty.

The JP2C isn't super compressed like the V is. It is very raw sounding overall, very similar to a Mark 3 or 2C+. It doesn't go as far as a C++. Maybe MESA will come out with a JH2C that is a "Metallica" inspired Mark.

The "Petrucci" mod was for the clean channel and gave the C+ a Volume 1 master volume for a cleaner channel. The "Metallica" mod or ++ mod is for 24 db of extra gain. ;) IMO I would rather extra gain than a super-duper clean ch.

Mesa mark Amps are the shit, hands down.

Tight enough? Did it hit the spot?

Congrats!

Totally buddy. Thanks for your wisdom. It can get very tight and aggressive.

How does it compares to your Butterslax?

Totally different.
British based amp vs American. Love both though.

Thanks dude, I’ll get something up for sure. Keeping the slax stack. It slays now.

Just got the chance to crank it with that suggestion.
Pure love. It does sound more aggressive. Nice call dude!

Thanks, I don’t feel the Jp2c is very compressed compared to a diezel. Less compressed than the v for sure.

Def agreed, good info

Congrats on the new amp! I had one for a short while. Liked it a lot, but mine was an FM radio receiver depending on where it was in my room, some places worse than others. Couldn’t handle the constant radio noise so sold it off. It’s definitely a big improvement over the V which was a disappointment to me

Thanks buddy. Did you happen to try different preamp tubes?
I had the same problem with my v:25, changed all the preamps and it not only solved that issue, but sounded better. It was a brand new one also. Some tubes just do that with the mark circuit I’ve found out.
My Jp2c is quieter than my 2017 MW recto. Really not that crazy noisy like some other amps I’ve had.
I have a Fortin Zuul, for those crazy noisy heads also haha. Try to plug straight in if I can though.

No. Never changed the tubes. It was weird. I could move it around he room and the radio signal would fade or get louder. Lol. Do you still HS have the Recto? I wouldn’t mind getting another Triple MW. That amp is in the top 5 for me.
