Was done buying gear for a bit, but my buddy had been searching for a reasonable lunch box Mesa for quite a while, and couldn’t find anything. Since I scored my Rectoverb 25 super cheap, I cut him a super deal and spent the last few weeks searching. Low and behold, a Tremoverb head and 2-12 finally appreard on CL, and I was the first to reply. These are getting harder to find and figured now was the time to buy a vintage head before they get more expensive. Man I love new gear day!

Damn, killer deal!!!! I bet it rips.
Really wants to be opened up but even dimed down it’s killer! Had a head and combo back in the day. Was busy chasing the next new thing.. and never thought someday these things will get harder to find and shoot up in price. I’m estatic! Glad I got to revisit this killer amp! And was able to hook up a bro at the same time. ?

That is actually a pretty good score on a Tverb these days. Nice!

Bought a Tverb half stack brand new in 1995 I believe. I absolutely loved that amp! Sold it for some stupid reason back in 2001'ish. Finally picked up another one about 5 years ago and it was not at all what I remembered my original being like. Re-tubed the entire thing and still not anywhere near where I thought it should be. Probably needed to go back to Mesa but I think I traded it away instead. Usually the Mesa stuff is pretty consistent but something had to be wrong the second one I had.

Wow, great deal
I just went home for lunch and played mine, same exact setup. I've been dialing mine in lately by looping a few riffs and then tweaking the eq and walking around the room. Such a killer amp. Sucks that I traded my Mark IV for it but it's as good in different ways.

Both amazing amps. I could see owning both for sure!

If you like vintage hi-gain/orange channel then be sure to try the dual-presence setup, which is to use the channel-cloning switch on back set to "red to vintage", then when using the red channel you have the vintage hi-gain voicing but both channel's presence knobs will be active with each one hitting a different area of the EQ, and at different spots in the circuit too. The orange presence will act more as a standard power-amp presence, and the red will be more midrange-interactive as it normally is in modern mode

Great tip! TY!

Yeah man. I had a 2-12 combo in white. Way too heavy and I was in good shape then!
I bought mine off of eBay and the seller shipped it in just a box with a few styrofoam peanuts. Went from California to South Carolina. UPS guy was literally rolling it end over end across my front lawn. Damned thing fired right up and sounded killer, haha
