So, pulled trigger on an MT15 last week.

Don't really need it as I have a JP-2c (currently for sale). A Triple Rec 3 Channel, A Ceriatone Chupacabra 100 and a Son of Yeti currently being built. BUt, you all know how GAS is :)

LOUD little amp. Def tougher getting bedroom type sound/volume. Have to be really subtle with the volume knob between 1-2.

I had to have gain up at about 3 oclock for my liking. Altho great for what it is, I don't think it is a keeper for me. I feel I gett better tone from the Rectifier (much better even bedroom volumes). Awesome clean channel tho.

I will say mine is extremeely quiet. No hiss, no noise, hum etc. NO issue what so ever.

I will keep it for abit and play with it some more, but it will probbly be up for sale fairly soon as I am just not blown away buy it and think they SOY will take care of my lunchbox needs.

If I didn't have too many amps already, maybe.... :)

Nice review. I too do not need but still kind of GAS
This has a few shocking lines:

Wow, my RECs were always terrible unless cranked

mine is extremeely quiet. No hiss, no noise, hum etc

My DMoll is scary quiet on high gain, but other than that every other amp I've had has some kind of ocean noise on high gain levels

I like the honesty of this review.........a lot of people usually gush about their new purchase..........

I had the same issue. My Ares and EVH 50 were just as good, if not better at low volumes. Also, they dominated it at higher volumes, rendering it redundant. The MT-15 would lose it at high volume. At around 1 o'clock on the volume, there would be a big mid bump and a decrease in low end. It's still a great little amp with killer tone, and sounds huge for 15 watts.

VERY true

Interesting. I preferred the MT15 to my 2 Mark IVs, and sold them both shortly after receiving it. Played it at a few shows, and a bunch of practices. Volume around 50% works well for me in those settings. The amp has literally been my favorite tone I have heard from an amp yet. I have been using my Kruse 5153 50 watt for shows, though, because the master volume makes it easier, but if the MT had a master volume, I would sell that EVH, too LOL. For recording, I have yet to find something that works better for me.

Agree. My 5153 50w was scary good at low volume.

Grats man! I enjoy my mt15 for what it is... but I guess if I had a triple rec in the arsenal not sure I would have picked up the prs in the first place. I preordered based off of namm clips and read it was aiming to be a blend of a rectifier and uberschall overall which I have neither. Its a great amp, but there are so many other great amps out there too... like those Wizards :scared:

I like mine because it plays with a feel that none of my other amps have. Low volume is just fine, and it really sounds good with low efficiency speakers, as opposed to the recommended V30s.

Ok, bit of an update.

Had some more time to play with it last night. Added a 6band eq and volume pedal toloop and an SD-1 up front.

Not replacing the Triple Reck, but this little thing does kick when dialed in properly. Def needs a bit of boost and eq in loop, but sounds pretty good now. Might even set up a stereo rig with this, my soon to be arriving SOY and a pair of Boogie Mini recto 1x12 cabs :)

if you mean the slanted ones, I had one for my Mark V:25; it went pretty shortly after getting a Mesa Thiele cab with the EV.

Yeah, those Mesa mini Recto 1x12s sure look cool...but the sound small and boxy as hell.

Somebody's selling one pretty cheap here locally.

So the seller "left the high gain amp world 2 years ago"
but bought an amp well known to be a high gain amp 2 weeks ago? Gotta love sellers and their bullshit made up excuses lol! Makes you wonder what else he's lying about...

Yes, I found that odd as well, as it sits on top of a Bogner. And, if he bought it last week, why doesn't he return it?

yah. A straight and slant. They are a bit too focused and boxy, but its my grab and go setup. My main cab is a Splawn 4x12 w 12-65s and Eminence small blocks.

This is what I'm running mine though. Two all ply $135 Peavey 1x12s with T75s. Sounds thunderous.

Well if he did sell it for $495 someone got a killer deal. I played one today at Replay and that is a great little amp that sounds big wicked and tight :)
