Both of these things kill for thrash. Peavey Bandit Transtube 1x12, with an SD-1 for a boost. 100 watts, got an FX loop, multiple options for channels. Amp is loud as fuck, built like a tank and slays for metal. Decent cleans for recording as well...pairs nicely with both of my delays. Tight as hell but the SD-1 just chokes up the low end, tightens it up and adds that little something.

Was a Christmas present and cost the person who got it for me less than $120 for both. You get that Peavey grind in spades whilst sounding badass...way cool option for getting a different sound, especially now while everybody you know is using Diezels/5153s/Kemper/AxeFx/whatever.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year motherfuckers! (Yup, I'm still drunk) :D

Those amps are pretty damn good actually. Congrats and enjoy

Man, big cash doesn't always translate to the best tone. I had a Crate Stealth that was 149.99 used and i'd put that up against many of the amps I've had. Congrats.

This ^^^^. I would also be curious to see what a clean boost would do to the front end of that thing. I fill in on guitar for a Punk Band every once in a while and my set up is close to yours. Marshall 50 watt Valvestate with a SD-1 slamming the front end. Congrats and Merry x-mas.

My go-to boost is always a cheapo Danelectro fish n chips eq pedal. Works well with everything so far, including that Stealth I used to have. 20 bucks.

Happy new gear day! GAS gifts make the holidays manageable.

I gigged a Bandit through a Marshall 4x10 cab (guitar cab from the 80s)
Sounded killer. Put that amp through a closed back cab, and you have an even more killer metal sound.

You know what...if it works for you then by all means, well done! You have to use what you have and thus, you make it work. Even better that it is a gift!

Good stuff! Enjoy!

:)

You kinda want to make me pic up one of these cheap for the heck of it :)

Cool score Scotty!
There is one at a Pawn Shop I deliver to on my route. I can get it for $100
Want to pic it up for a in the house rig to noodle on. My big rig is out in the garage. I remember when I first played a transtube. I was blown away at the time. Sorta like when I plugged into my first tube amp years later. :D

Nice! Poverty style is my favorite style.

Got that right bro....you always manage to make it sound like a million bucks though!

This cracks me up...I was drunk as fuck when I posted this otherwise I wouldn't have bothered...we should start a thread for all the super cheap gear that sounds good floating around RT. :D

Speaking of cheap gear; was on the hunt for a cheap bass....snagged this for $140 shipped after trying em out at GC earlier. Big fat neck, 30" scale so it shouldn't be too hard to adjust to.

Wouldn't use it live as my only bass, but it should serve me well to record with.
