Picked up and early rev g dual rec tonight with small logo and attached power cable. The amp was pretty dirty and had a total hack job done to the tolex, some I'm going to recover it at some point. For now, I can't even check it out yet, but I will put it through it's paces tomorrow. Serial# is 5539, putting it firmly in the rev g camp, but I'm interested to see how it stacks up against my rev g triple rectifier.

Filthy Nasty Goodness right there. Have fun w that beast.

I’ll never understand how the inside areas of an amp chassis gather so much flipping dust lol.

Nice. How much did you grab it for?

$800 for this one. Usually I'm a bit thriftier and don't buy stuff that looks this rough, but I knew someone out there would be willing to pay around $1000 for it because of its vintage. I actually already have one someone trying to buy it off of me for that price. Haha.

I'm going to see how it stacks up against my triple rectifier and probably sell whichever one I don't love.

Spent some time with it today. Put it up against my two channel triple rectifier, just to see how they stack up. They're damn close, but for whatever reason, my triple just seems to have a little something that none of my other rectifiers ever had. A little bit more rawness and upper mid presence, and a hair tighter and punchier. The blackface dual sounds a little bigger, but has more of the typical low frequency push you'd expect out of a rectifier, making it just a tad bit looser and less cutting at the same time.

On the fence of what to do with it. Part of me wants to rehab it to it's former vidual glory, which would be cheap and a fun project, and I could also retube the power section with kt77 or e34l's and still be into it for less than I could sell it for. I could spend some time with it and come out even, or I could just sell it for a couple bucks profit and keep my trusty triple around.

Here it is sitting with the triple and my new mark Iv that I traded for today.

I also have an early Rev G Triple, and it CRUSHES. Jack that bitch into a V30 full stack and let 'er rip!!!

I have a small logo Dual revision G that was a rehab project. I picked it up for a crazy price because of the issues and ended up sending it into Mesa for the repairs. Once I got it back I ended up putting a set of GT6L6GE’s in it and it has honestly became my favorite amp. It is a absolute monster.
