Lucky dog. Congratulations. I had one before but sold it so I could have one custom built by Mike Soldano. Mine just arrived yesterday. It's freaking killer. I've swapped speakers, power and preamp tubes, and discussed the workings of it at length with Mike Soldano, so if there is anything you might want to know about the HR25, I'd be happy to help if I can.

Do not let that amp go man! You might want to after a while, but I assure you will regret it. Everyone I have talked to about it who sold theirs regrets it. You have to record several tracks with it because it might not always be 100% perfect to your ears, but it ALWAYS records fantastically. There are a few tricks which you can do to increase clean headroom, boost volume or change the feel if 5881's feel a bit flat to you. Anyway, incredible amp man. What speakers are you currently using?

I think the HR25 (especially with good preamp glass) is incredibly under appreciated. Amazing little amp that sounds huge.

I had a couple boosts I was using seperately - turning on and off. Maxon, Mesa Flux and a Suhr Koko. Amp gain was set to about noon.

I can hear the boost pedals being kicked in and out, I love the extra grind the boosts give it.

Great clip. I've been interested in this amp for a while but just haven't pulled the trigger. Not a place near me where I can test one out beforehand. If it sounds great and punchy at decent volumes then I'm even more interested. A 25 watt amp is not quiet though and if it has to be really loud to sound good then it might not be for me.
