That's awesome man. I wasn't sure if it'd be your thing. Glad to hear you're digging it.

Sounded good but I think I liked the Wizard clip better

Hey, turn the gain to 6-7 and master to 7 and let me know if it sounds like you're standing on the beach at high tide with your guitar volume turned all the way down. Mike S. told me that was totally normal, but it just doesn't seem right to me.

SLO I had didn't have a particularly low noise floor, Rick, so that might be just how it is.

SLO was a magnificent amp, though.

I've never seen another SLO in the flesh other than my own, so I just want to know if others sound like mine or if mine has issues.

NO! thats all about V1. I got a JJ ECC803S gold pin in there (High Gain, Low Microphonic version). It was very quiet at those settings at rehearsal.

Hmmmm. I have GE/Motorola NOS preamp tubes in there. Mike said V1 was always the issue with noise. I swapped a bunch of them, but there was no difference in noise. I guess I'll try that tube you mention, though, at $50 per, I would hope the NOS tubes would be worth their price in tone and cleanliness.

How do you like it so far compared to the XTC 20th or VH4? Between the XTC 20th and SLO, which do you think is better for playing leads?

I always found my SLO a one trick pony, it did the tight aggressive high gain tones really well but was average with single coils, especially middle and neck.

Mine does that. It's typical.

Sounds good! Id like to try one with loop mod. What kind of speakers you running?

Glad you like it! There's a reason or two that they are considered among the best guitar amps ever made. Try odd eq settings too, and maybe a boost. I ran my treble off and used presence to dial in high end. Nice playing as usual!

Congrats! Nice clip/tones! One year with mine now and I still love it, especially with greenbacks. HNAD!

So awesome with the Modded loop
You can actually hear the delay echos while your playing unlike the stock loop

Sounds great! Some of your best recorded tones I've heard!
