This was a kit build I got from V2 that I screwed up. He sent me a prepopulated pcb as a replacement and I wired it up then a capacitor blew up. Replaced with a higher rated cap then it threw sparks. I threw in the towel at that point and took it to a tech. A year later and I got it back good as new.
This is a fun amp. Not high gain by no means. It's around plexi JCM800 levels of gain. The EQ knobs do great as does the switches.
Thing is loud af for a lunch box head. I think John had one build with my specs showing 30 watts clean. I have EL34's in this. Does classic rock tones for days which is nice cause everything else I've been playing is high gain. Boosted with a Duality standard I can get mid 80's thrash tones. I need to install an effects loop. Oh and yeah this is a v2 Caldera
