Here it is the Super Sport with a vertical 2x12" loaded with smallblocks.

has the loop master which none of my big splawns have (KT88 promod and KT88 nitro 2008ish) which is great. it has two gears, od1/od2 and two channels with a shared EQ. It sounds great at TV volumes, and damn it gets loud when you turn it up.

the OD channel is classic splawn, great and totally badass. the clean i have set to a medium light bluesy gain. i totally dig it. it can stay clean relatively loud though which is impressive for small glass (6v6).

it is about four months old all perfectly flawless, i traded my orange dual terror and PPC112OB for it.

I am very happy with the deal and the amp.

i haven't tried it out with boosts yet, it doesn't really need it, but i will. i will throw a little delay and chorus in the loop and will be jamming until the cows come home. but wait. i live in a swamp. lets say gators. lol.

very happy splawner x3 now.

thanks 311. i just need a quickrod now. but i am happy with the kt88's in my promod but i hate that KT88's are minimum about $40 a pop. but they usually last quite a while. i will be getting some kt88's in a few months, as i have two builds that i need to fund.

Congrats!

The QR I had kicked all kinds of ass.

thanks 311. i just need a quickrod now. but i am happy with the kt88's in my promod but i hate that KT88's are minimum about $40 a pop. but they usually last quite a while. i will be getting some kt88's in a few months, as i have two builds that i need to fund.

That's one reason I stayed away from KT88's - too expensive. But, I like my KT77's better anyway!

Yeah I definitely got the good end of the deal.

I am considering modding my Nitro for EL34's just for tube cost. I will probably just suck it up though and get some KT88's. They sound so massive. I have so many amps though that I don't use them all regularly, but I rotate through them. I bet I will get at least five years out of them. I will be only running two tubes so essentially half power. I just have to get around to it.

I must say that I had tried splawn small blocks before buying other cabs. I will probably get two small blocks from splawn and stick them in a 2x12 that is empty atm.

Last week I just picked up a mojotone 2x12 loaded with webers that I am totally digging. I am not going to post a new cab day, but maybe I will put a picture in this thread. It is in a smooth metallic black tolex.

Congrats. Looks awesome.

Just curious since I saw you have a ENGL with KT88's, what have you had best luck with?

@napalmdeath do you still have the greenback cab for sale?

That’s awesome, congrats. I think you got a good deal too.
On your note about the Quick Rod, hit me up if/when you’re ready for that. I just got one, but I have too many amps now.

I bought it with KT88s so it's all I know. I love how it sounds. Kind of like EL34s on steroids.

You can easily mod the Nitro to run EL34s, like I was saying, by removing that 1m resistor. You've got the skills. Then, just piggy back it back on if you don't like it. I think I'd like a Nitro with EL34s as well because there is sooooo much bass already.

I know that I can do it, but I am torn because I do like it when KT88's. I will just buy a pair, run it at half power and bulldoze through buildings. Lol.

I will not mod it unless I can figure out how to do it with a switch, which I should be able to do without much issue.

Is Scott still relatively reachable if I call and ask? Or has he gotten too big?

I don't plan on a QR soon tbh. I will likely snag a Fryette deliverance first or an EVH5153.

I just talked to a guy at splawn who said r30 is 27k ohms in EL34, and 15k ohm resistor in the KT88. I could run a switch to change the value, but I would have to rebias every time, which is not a big deal. I will do a little thinking about how I am going to do it and where I am going to put the switch.

I actually think it sounds better in the MOJO cab with a Weber Grey wolf and blood hound ten it does with small blocks. Odd
