I personally love dry aggressive amps. That's my wheelhouse. It took me a long time to figure that out. The highly polished, polite amps while nice are just not for me. I would take a Peavey over an EVH or a Splawn over a Friedman.

Me too. I don't like polished either. I loved the Splawn, and love the Engl Artist I have now.

The EVH is too out of control for me. Blue channel is great, but red is the most asinine amount of gain of any amp I've ever owned. And not in a pleasing way.
