So far ...

Clean channel is pretty damn good. Better than I thought it would be.

Plugged in with my Gibby V with a Duncan Custom in the bridge ... oh boy. Was not digging it at all.

Then, switched to my Mammoth Custom San Dimas with the JB in the bridge and HOLY SHIT BALLS BATMAN!!! Fucking slays! I only got about 20 minutes of play time with it but GAT DAMN I am very satisfied "buying without trying."

I have not been digging that Custom in the V so going to have to swap it out. Too damn bright in that guitar.

I'll get some clips soon for sure.

Off topic, but I had a hard time finding a pickup that I liked in my V. Ended up with a Suhr DA.

I'll be able to give my guitars a proper run through this weekend. I may swap for a JB.

The JB is one of my favorite pickups, but it didn't work for me. The Aldrich ate it alive.

True! Even before I opened it I was contemplating a Street Rod or Super Sport for low wattage rocking, but this thing even sounds good with the volume almost completely off. Good enough for late night practicing anyway.

Now I can focus on my KT88 loaded Super Comp!

Side note on tone, I told the Splawn crew what the "tone in my head" was and this amp definitely delivers. Scott recommended the regular model and not the B+ as I made them aware of my VHT love. I like a little stiffness to my amp. I would love to try the B+ to compare though.

Only thing driving me nuts is ... I can't figure out the 4 button footswitch. How do I know what gear I'm on???

I have an SH-5 in my agile.. I have gotten used to it. A bit high in the mids though.. Gears... gear one will be the lowest gain. VIDS !!!!!

LOL at the gear comment. The footswitch isn't super intuitive is my point.
