I tried...thousands of dollars worth I tried to like Splawns but...Not to be....Good Luck Nick!!
Yeah I still regret selling you my Nitro. That is my all-time favorite amp. Funny how one man's trash is another's treasure.  :scared:  :aww:

Sounds killer man.

From the look of the headstock, is that a Jackson Dominion? If so, how do you like it? I've always wanted to pick one up.

Good stuff. The Super Comp definitely leans more my way than the Nitro with 34's that I sold. Cool thing about Splawns is they don't get too far into your pocket and you can have a 2'fer - two of them for the price of one of those!

Yeah, the guitar sounds killer in the beginning of "break me down". What amp was that?

on the actual recording on my myspace , thats a ccv.... on the youtube i just posted it is just the super comp....

Sounds great Nick. The SuperComp sounds kick ass with KT88's.Splawn makes some killer amps. I love my Competition and after hearing your clips of the SuperComp with KT88's I think thats my next amp.

It's pretty cool... over the passed few years i've been learning more and more about amps....still got a longgg way to go!

With the help of a few good friends who are brilliant amp techs... i've learned pretty much what a marshall circuit looks like....I realize now owning one that the splawns are Marshall circuits to the T.

Down to the circuit board markings and transformer color codes.... its exact

It's pretty much the mods that Scott does that makes the amps sound different. They are def made nice, good quality trannies and boards, and everything is assembled very nicely.

I'm a picky bastard and I own some pretty great fricken amps, in fact for my taste and style I believe the amps I own are the best for me PERIOD.

That being said, im going to put a little of my own flavor into this super comp to try to get it closer to what I like. . . there are some things I dont 100% love about it , but other things i do... such as its articulate tracking and nice build quality...

after some research today , i learned that the transformers are the same as 100 watters which will make turning this into a 100 watt that much easier....and learned some stuff about the negative feedback circuit/ cathode folllower / phase inverter , along some of the tone stack values which i think will bring it to exactly what i want!

stay tuned!

What are the things you do and dont like about the amp? Also what do you plan on doing to the amp?

Congrats on the new amp. Seems like Splawns are making their rounds around here the last couple of months or so.

thanks....

Im sending it up to Jerry P over @ FJA to work his magic .... its leaving today! :D
