The Friedman JJ 100... :hys:

Just got here in my hands moments ago

I ran home at lunch to drop her off and make sure she had a safe trip from Cali and she is PERFECT!

Looks killer awesome in person, can wait to spend some quality time with this amp tonight!

Friedman amps are the only thing that tempt me to want to flip my 5153 Stealth.

You are not helping.

Thought you already had this one? Must have been the BE I was thinking?
Played one yet?

Ummm... As far as Friedmans go,

I got my first 2014 BE last May. It is the older circuit board design and sounds warm buttery smooth and killer and will never sell it EVAR.

I then shortly there after got a small box 50, which I liked but not as much as my BE100 and I flipped it pretty quick. Killer amp though.

I recently bought a second BE100 from a buddy here on Rig-Talk with the newer circuit board design and flipped that pretty quick to someone local

I bought a white JJ from my local dealer two weeks ago and then took it back the next day and had them order this for me direct from Friedman as i decided I wanted a black one.

If that's the case, I'm curious to hear his impressions of the difference between the two. I had a newer BE in the man cave for a few hours recently (picked it up for a friend on one of these forums). I was impressed, but had a lot going-on at the time and didn't really get to properly experience it and A/B it with other amps. Just curious on people's opinions on the differences between the two (the SS as well).

So I will just take it you like the older revision better than the newest without trying to start a Friedman shitstorm

I've got an older 2012 built 2 input BE I got used here in the classifieds in late 2012, great amp indeed.
Had the smallbox for about 3 months last fall and thought it was great as well but for the way I used them there was too much overlap. Only 2 Friedmans I've played.

From what I understand I have the BE 100 is the newest version but since it was made in spring of last year there was a circuit board redesign or something like that. Some people say you can hear a difference even though nothing was actually changed in the circuit... I'm not a hard core techie so i might not be explaining this properly though. I do like my original BE more than the one I had with the newer circuit board design... Apparently i have an eyelet board in my BE100 or something like that... What ever it has, it is the best amp I have ever owned in my entire life and there have been countless amps pass through my hands. Next month it will be a year for me having that BE100. Again I not a techie and I'm trying to explain what I have heard from others the best I can from my limited perspective on technical stuff...

Anyway... I can't wait to get home in a little while and play with the "VA-JAYJAY" and coax some juicy gooey tones from it...

I might have to grab a "Va-JayJay" 4x12 too...

JJ is so good, loved playing one at GC, might have to get one some day

That's great. Cause the older ones I've seen were going cheaper than the newer revisions. Will keep to keep that on my radar.

Btw... I picked-up a Splawn QR half stack last week for $800... so I'm still pretty damn high on that! Best $800 worth of tone I've ever gotten!

Be sure that what your looking at has 3 toggle switches on the front or it is not like mine... There is also an older version before mine as well with only one toggle on it.

You're gonna love it , what a killer amp !

I just got done fingering the VaJayJay with some EMGs and it was boner-rifficly brutal as can be...

I might need the cab too...

Congrats! Welcome to the club. Got mine about a month ago. It's Fan-freaking-tastic. Amazing twist on the modded plexi platform. Plexi in DNA, but so much meaner and better. A deeper darker tighter less muddy plexi. I can't stop playing mine. While you can hear the basis for the JBE in the BE mode, they are different enough that the amp covers a huge range from classic to modern. I started tube rolling NOS Mullards 12AX7's into the amp this week and it took the tone to the next level, thickening it up, focusing the mids, and giving it more growl. Definitely recommend getting some vintage glass in there.
