:) Congratulations...

Here is one of my favorite sounds .....o'clock....

Switch-LESS

GAIN1-10/11
GAIN2-full
Master-9/11.... usually around 10..... (remember the MASTER makes a big difference in the voice. The poweramp cranked into overdrive on this amp can be great.)
TREBLE-1
MIDDLE-10/12
BASS-1
PRESENCE-12
DEPTH-1

This is probably my favorite rhythm / crunch type sound (can be used for other stuff as usual)...... start here and fine tune for your guitar / cab (I adjust the DEPTH & PRESENCE first)....
Steve Fryette recommended something similar when I asked about getting a TOOL /Ænima type sound....

Awesome, I'll try that. And yes, tool tones are pretty easy to find with this head. How do you think the master changes the voicing?

I tend to think of the GAIN'S as distortion & the MASTER as overdrive..... up above noon the dB's do not get much louder .... but the sound can get a lot thicker. There is a lot of voices in the 11/2 o'clock range. Unlike a lot of amps that can do high-gain ~ you can really blend the preamp & poweramp ranges without it turning into mush right away. For me the real magic of this amp comes from pushing the poweramp / blending preamp & poweramp distortion. You can hear how the voice changes as you change the MASTER .... pretty clear in the 9/10 range.... overdrive kicks in with most (other knobs) settings around 11 or so. I really is about getting a balance....

I should mention I use a THD Hot Plate to control the dB's in the room ....

Not sure about the FB & D cabs, but if you are used to the sound of Celestions, it will be hard to gel with the sound of Eminence speakers.
I like my V12 Legends (close to the P50) with my VHT, but they're too...polite and round sounding for my tastes. I can make due with them, but I like my V30's better.

It'll be a while before I will be trying any new speakers. I'm pretty happy wih how my cab sounds. I would really like to try some new pickups though.

For what you do, I'd check out a Bare Knuckles Warpig 7 if you're looking into passives. I think, paired with that amp, you'd be right where you want to be.

I have a Deliverance 120. It is such a cool amp. Recently retubed with Gold Lion KT88s and a mix of Tungsol and Chinese pre's. Biased the power tubes around 50 MA and this amp is so great. I love it and can get so many quality tones from it. Never bonded with the Sig X. I use a Marshall Hendrix 4X12 with mine. Absolutely glorious.

Steve

This one has gold lions in it as well. Open to suggestions on Pre tubes.

Try a Tungsol in V1 closest to input jack and use chines for rest. I think there is an AT7 in there somewhere.

Based on my experience:
* vht cab>other cabs (with this specific amp)
*less mode + boost pedal =WIN
*BKP Warpigs rule (with all amps i've tried, use a proper guitar...alder preferred)

....Also all chinese preamp tubes rule in this amp....doug's tubes sell the ruby ac5 variant or something like that...it sounds a bit thicker than regular chinese tubes...try that in v1 and PI
SED kt88 power tubes make this amp dominate, jj 6550 sound creamier and color the sound a bit more, makes it feel closer to 6l6
