Nice playin man...I hear some Schenker in there myself!!! sweet

Very cool tune, tone and playing. I actually like the sound of your guitar a little more on this version than the iTunes version. I don't know if it's the mix or the way you have your rig setup. It just seems to cut better.

thanks man! this is a different amp, based off a JCM800 and in the combo format. CD version would have been my plexi with a 4x12 with Greenbacks. I haven't a/b'd them - I was probably going for darker tones with the plexi, might have had reverb on that version too. this little combo kills - biggest sounding combo I ever heard. Used it at an outdoor gig and it sounded awesome!

Hey Darren Im in the market for a good ole Marshall circuit....was looking at a 77 jmp but theres always reliability issues with an old amp as we know so now looking into clones....wanted to get the Suhr 68 is very nice but very pricey. The Variplex looks interesting to and is much cheaper...what say thee?

Cool!

You just transported me back to '82 at Ridgemont High with Perry's pizza in hand rocking out to "Raised on the Radio" before class.

oh man I dig the Variplex, but I never played one at low volume. So depending on what you're looking for and what kind of volume you want it's hard to say. You should give Roy a call and let him know what you're for, see what he suggests. I'll tell you that head he put in the combo is great. It's a slightly tweaked JCM800 circuit and the master works great.

thanks dude! I just remembered we took the final mixes on the cd to 2" tape and back to digital. The video is straight digital. Could be that too

Sounds great Darren! I heard some Schenker -esque melodicism in there too.

Sounds good Darren. Still need to pick up your cd. Keep getting sidetracked one way or another.

I noticed the Schenker influences peppered throughout the new CD. Really liking that aspect of Darren's playing these days.

While I don't always agree with you on certain topics, you're still super solid player. Good stuff!

You should try being more agreeable in 2014.
