Some of you may recognize this amp and a couple of RTers have owned it. Well, now it mine.
This amp was totally gutted and rebuilt by Henric Hermansson in 2012 and I have had an itch so far up my ass since seeing it back then that the only thing that would scratch it would be the actual amp. Well, the stars aligned and I was able to scrounge up enough money to buy it. I honestly don't know how long I'll be able to afford to keep it, but it's mine for the time being. It's was also kind of a test purchase. If I really liked it beyond what I could get from some other stuff then I would probably wait a little longer and see about having him build me a custom build with probably just one maybe two channels. I had a great transaction with Mitch (the grimbrewer) and besides Canada Post adding an additional 2000 miles to the shipping all is good. Mitch packed it great and it doesn't appear to have fallen from any substantial heights.
I've only spent a couple of hours with it so far but I have a few things to say so far. The clean channel is awesome with a lot of tonal options. I like it bright and sparkly so that's how I set it. It can do thick and dirty too. The second channel which Henric said is his version of a Jose style mod is pretty versatile and has two different diode clipping options neither of which drop the volume. Without those engaged it's pretty 2203 ish with a pretty good mid hump that would make a great solo channel. The 3rd channel is a very versatile modern high gain channel. Thick and smooth or tight and grindy. I love it. All the stickers were added by a previous owner and REALLY help since none of the knobs correspond with what is written originally on the amp.
