I did get a new to me amp today but it's one I already have. There's something out of whack with my Randall Rm100 where the power tubes aren't lighting up. When doing some research on this I came across one that had the foglifter+/NFB, fx loop, and input gain mods. Also had the big boy Mercury Magnetics transformer and choke upgrade. Came with 3 modules and the footswitch. Pretty much the whole package except for the dual channel mod for less than the cost of the mods themselves. Couldn't pass that up.
After it came in I did a quick test to make sure it all worked. Then I swapped midi boards between the two RM100's so this one now has the dual channel mod and the other is back to stock. Aside from that, the new one migrated to the headshell I recovered with the lavender/white crocodile vinyl.
The mods do wonders for tone shaping, but the MM transformer makes it sound and feel like a completely different amp. I never imagined it would have such a huge impact. The one with the factory transformer doesn't sound bad by any means, but the MM sounds better. I'm not sure exactly how to describe it. It's like it was opened up to its full potential. All together with the synergy and modded mts modules it's a beast of an amp.
