So I hit up Long & McQuade on the weekend in Toronto, hoping to leave with the Gibson EDS-1275 they had there. Well it didn't play as good as it looked so I passed.

I decided I could use a practice amp for home (all my amps are either in storage, at my parents or at our jam space). Never thought I'd own one of these but I was pleasantly suprised...

Behold the Line 6 Spider IV, 75 watts with 1x12 Celestion. This thing is actually loads of fun and sounds pretty damn good. Pisses all over the Spider III.

So there you have it. Among my vintage Fenders, Marshalls, Mesa's, VHT, 5150 & Legacy, I have a Line 6

And the search continues for a double neck.

sadly enough as it seems, im probably looking at an expensive line6 vetta 2 head in the future. ive found out by surprise that i enjoy playing through line6 stuff, and a few artists (michael romeo, chris impelliterri) that i enjoy the tone from on record or live actually use them.

go figure im all about a high quality tube amplifier. never thought i would ever crave a modeling amplifier, but hey if it sounds good, it sounds good. its w/e.

i might do a stereo rig with a line6 and my 5150 with MM iron in the future. 5150 dry, line 6 wet.

hey, whatever works i guess :dunno: :)

i hear you on the double neck too. actually to be completely honest - i wish i would have bought an OLP double neck when i had the chance. with the usual pickup/floyd upgrades it could have been a good guitar addition.

hey, its whatever i guess.

Been playing my POD PRO rackmount lately into the fx return of the MESA. It actually doesn't sound horrible this way

I heard a guy using a Vetta live before and he had a crushing sound going on. I was impressed.

I've tried the xt pro / poweramp thing and it didn't do much for me. Mind you I was using a PA power amp (QSC) so maybe that wasn't the best choice, I don't know.

Also tried the xt pro through my Ultra Lead's FX loop and I just couldn't get it to jive. The xt pro still remains my scratch track rig lol.

i didnt want to hijack your thread so i started another lol.

yeah i heard a vetta live once and was impressed as well. didnt get to get a good look at it though.

yeah i dont hear/see much love for the pro, im glad you ran that opinion by me, i was leaning more towards the vetta anyway because it would be easier to carry with the 5150. i know mike had one here on the forum too and he didnt hang onto it long.

but yeah i guess its one of those divine aha moments when i realize im chasing a tone that's line6 can deliver for wet effects. plus, for late night playing, i wouldnt need my 1x12 combo anymore either. will save alot of money on tubes

i wonder if the vetta can be used for effects only and/or amplifier modeling as well? might have to find an owners manual somewhere.

wonder why i dont hear about such a setup more often? not a whole lot of love for the vetta heads.
